Gutzman Photography Helping you capture those special moments!

06/18/2026

This right here is exactly why I started making keepsake films.

Not because I need another thing to do 😂 but because senior year goes by so incredibly fast and I want my seniors to remember more than just the photos.

I want them to remember what it felt like.

The music playing. The laughing between shots. The random conversations. Running around chasing the light. All the little moments that make up this season of life.

And yes, we are doing this session in parts because I refuse to rush it. I want my seniors to be obsessed with their photos and honestly there are way too many ideas and memories to squeeze into one evening.

This girl has been so much fun and part one was everything I hoped it would be.

So here is a little keepsake film from the other night because these moments deserve to be remembered too.

And we’re just getting started.

Class of 2027 senior season starts this week and I am ridiculously excited.

Honestly, senior season is one of my favorite things I photograph all year. If you've been around here for a while, you already know I don't do the whole "stand here, smile, next location" thing. I want my seniors to walk away feeling like their session was actually about them.

Want flowers? Let's do flowers.

Want sports photos? Let's do sports photos.

Want to bring your horse, your truck, your guitar, your dog, or some completely random idea you came up with at midnight? Perfect. My goal has always been the same: I want my seniors to look at their photos and think, "Yep. That's me."

And parents, don't worry. We absolutely get the yearbook photo. We get the traditional smiling-at-the-camera shots too.
But I also want these seniors to be excited about their photos.
I want them involved in planning. I want them sending me screenshots and ideas. I want them counting down the days until their session instead of feeling like it's just another thing they have to do before graduation.

Every year I get just as excited as they do while we plan locations, outfits, themes, and all the little details that make their session feel personal.

So if you're one of my Class of 2027 seniors, just know I've been waiting for this and I am READY.

Let's do this. 📸

I absolutely adored this wedding.

The people, the flowers, the red barn, the kids, the laughter... all of it.

But my favorite part was hearing Chad and Samantha promise to always be each other's +1.

Because at the end of the day, that's really what marriage is. Having someone to do life with.

Here's a few sneak peeks from their beautiful day ❤️

Color or Black and white?

Remember that vintage recorder I tested at this wedding?

Well...

Here it is.

No fancy editing. No perfect stabilization. No cinematic drone shots.

Just little moments exactly as they happened.

The laughter, the chaos, the hugs, the people you love all in one place.

Honestly, there's something about the imperfections that makes it feel more like a memory and less like a production.

Safe to say this experiment was a success and is officially becoming a wedding add-on.

And to the bride's friend who volunteered to run around with this thing all day... you absolutely crushed it.

Now excuse me while I become emotionally attached to grainy wedding footage.

I know I've photographed a lot of weddings, but this one was something else.

When the bride told me they were getting married in a giant conservatory, I was excited. Then I walked in and immediately realized I was about to have a problem.

Every. Single. Corner. Was beautiful.

The plants, the light, the little hidden pockets of greenery, it felt like we had somehow left Illinois and ended up somewhere tropical. At one point I looked around and thought, "Well this is rude. How am I supposed to narrow down favorites when every corner looks like a whole photoshoot?"

What these photos do not show is that it was somehow hotter inside the conservatory than it was outside. The bride looked flawless. The groom looked flawless. I was sweating through every layer of clothing and fighting for my life.

Worth it.

And then these two went and made my job even harder.

They were so easy together. No forcing anything, no awkward posing, just genuinely happy to be marrying their person. Those are always my favorite weddings because you can feel it in every image.

I'm working my way through this gallery and picking sneak peeks was nearly impossible. There are way too many favorites already.

Congratulations again to these two. Thank you for trusting me with your day and for giving me an excuse to spend a few hours in a giant plant filled sauna with a camera in my hand.

Ok, so you all know I like trying new things.

This past weekend I tested out the vintage recorder idea at a wedding and let me just say... it was a hit.

Like such a hit that it's officially being added as a wedding add-on.

The funny part? The person testing it wasn't even the bride. She was a friend of the bride and absolutely understood the assignment. This woman was climbing into bushes, sneaking around, catching moments from angles I never would've thought of. She seriously set the bar ridiculously high for anyone who uses this thing in the future.

I'm currently working through the wedding gallery and putting together the video footage and I am SO excited for everyone to see it. The footage feels nostalgic, a little imperfect in the best way, and tells the story of the day in such a different way than photos do.

I honestly can't wait to share it.

Stay tuned because this might be one of my favorite wedding add-ons yet.

I spend so much time freezing moments in photos that I almost forgot some memories deserve movement too.

The way they looked at each other when no one else noticed. The shaky deep breaths. The laughs between the chaos. The little moments that photos can’t quite hold.

This one pushed me outside my comfort zone a little, and if I’m being honest, I was nervous as hell 😂 But watching this back reminded me why I love what I do.

Photos tell the story. Video lets you feel it.

And now excuse me while rewatch this a million times.
