Pavlikspictures My name is Paul and I am a freelance photographer. On this site I will share the pictures I have taken over the years. Aviation is in my blood.

Though I enjoy most genres of photography, military aviation is my preferred subject as it never stops challenging me. I’m always finding new ways to capture that special moment of these magnificent mechanical birds as they soar through the skies at 300+ miles per hour. Subjects like Landscape, Wildlife and Motorsports are also featured. My passion for photography began at the age of 6 when my fat

her gave me my first camera. Growing up I was fortunate to be exposed to military and civilian aviation and as soon as I was of legal age to fly, I began my quest for fixed and rotary aircraft pilots licenses.

— “Bulldogs” - Marine Attack Squadron (VMA)-223 - TAV-8B Harrier is a twin seat Harrier trainer aircraft, and uses a single Rolls Royce Pegasus vectored thrust turbofan producing 23,500 lb’s of thrust - Its sibling, the single seat variant is capable of Mach 0.9 (673 mph at sea level), it cruised at Mach speed of 0.8 (459 knots) and the TAV-8B II should have close to the same flight performance.

— Sunhawks VRM-50 Fleet Replacement Squadron’s CMV-22B Osprey of the U.S. Navy —

The Bell Boeing CMV-22 Osprey is a tilt-rotor aircraft capable of both vertical and short takeoff and landings. It utilizes massive 38 ft (12 m) diameter rotors to propel itself to over 270 knots air speed. It is designed as a long-range hauler while combining helicopter functionality and high-speed cruise performance of 300+ knots.

The U.S. Navy operates the Osprey as a multi-mission capable aircraft though it is primarily used for the Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) mission. It is replacing the C-2A Greyhound. The C-2A Greyhound is unable to carry an F-35 variant engine from shore to ship due to several constraints whereas the Osprey is capable of doing so.

For the COD mission, the Osprey is also responsible for delivering personnel, mail, and high priority cargo to ships at sea.

— Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department protecting the safety of its community in the early hours of this morning in Henderson, Nevada.

Amazing flying skills by the crew of Air 2 - N530JL MD-530F helicopter. I could not resist going out and taking a few photographs of them doing their courageous and stressful job. They are often the unsung hero’s of our community.

There are a few things I’d do differently next time I get an opportunity like this, and that’s what’s great about photography, you can always learn and challenge one’s self’s skills.

Though I have lived in many cities across our globe, I can confidently say that I have never seen a better trained, prepared and courteous police department anywhere. I am proud of them. Treat them as you would like to@be treated and you will see how respectfully they treat you back.

Bell Boeing CV-22 Osprey is a tilt-rotor aircraft capable of both vertical (helicopter) and traditional (airplane) short takeoff / landing capabilities - It is designed to combine a helicopters functionality with longer range and speed of an aircraft. It’s capable of traveling 1000+ miles as well as inflight refueling. Its cruises speed is above 300+ mph, which is nearly twice as fast as most helicopters while carrying 32 troops and a crew of 4. It can swap the troop load for 20,000 lbs of cargo weight.

It does all this with the help of two Rolls-Royce T406-AD-400 engines producing 6,150 hp, turning massive 38 ft diameter three blade propellers that can swivel upwards as well as forwards.

The Osprey represents challenging engineering while being a technological marvel.

— HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter of the Test & Evaluation (OT tailed) squadron —

U.S. Air Force HH-60W has been replacing its aging fleet of HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters with the new Whiskey “W” variant. Among the many upgraded changes, the exhaust manifold directs the exhaust heat upwards rather than to the sides to reduce Infra-Red signature in hostile environments.

I do wonder whether it will shorten the life of the main rotors. That would seem a worthwhile compromise.
