Today is National Day of the Cowgirl. I did not grow up in this world. I found it after the Army, at an equine therapy barn, at a point where I was about as lost as I have ever been. Nobody in that arena cared what my rank used to be. They cared whether I showed up and did the work. That is still what I love about this community. Happy Day of the Cowgirl to every woman out there who found herself in a saddle.

Elbow deep in SWQHA footage this week. If you booked a reel, I am pulling your best runs first and working through the list in the order classes ran. Raw clips go out faster than finished videos, so do not panic if your friend gets theirs before you do.

That is a wrap on the SWQHA Fall Futurity. Thank you to every rider, trainer, and barn who let me get in close this weekend. I am the official photographer for the SWQHA Fall Futurity September 5th through 7th, and I am doing something new this year. If you want a reel from your run, sign up in advance for one of three options: a finished edited video for $45, raw clips straight from your class for $30, or both for $60. Sign-ups close at midnight the night before your show, so don't wait until you are in the alley to think about it.
