The building was packed by 5:30!
Not because anyone had to be there, but because these kids WANTED to be there. That’s what happens when you create something SPECIAL. Yesterday marked ONE YEAR of Teen Night with Kinfolk, & watching it grow from a small idea into what it is today has been incredible.
To Saysha & Jimmy — I hope you both took a moment to really look around last night. Not at the decorations, the food, or even the packed building. I hope you looked at the kids. The friendships that have been built. The laughter filling the ENTIRE building. The teens who found a place they feel safe, welcomed, & excited to come back to every. single. week.
That’s because of the environment YOU BOTH created.
From the vendors who showed up, to the volunteers who gave their time, to every sponsor who has invested in this mission — THANK YOU. Last night was a reminder that it takes a community to make something like this work & as someone who has been fortunate enough to watch Teen Night unfold through my camera lens over the last year, I can honestly say I will never stop being amazed by these kids. They show up. They support one another. They laugh together. They make memories together.
& in a world where so many teenagers are searching for connection, that’s a beautiful thing to witness.
If you’re not involved with Kinfolk’s Teen Night, I truly encourage you to find a way to be. Whether it’s sponsoring, volunteering, donating, or simply showing up, your support helps ensure these teens continue to have a place they can call their own.
One year down. So many more to go. ❤️
