M̶O̶N̶T̶H̶S̶ I̶N̶T̶O̶ S̶E̶C̶O̶N̶D̶S̶

There’s something about moments like this that’s hard to tell the whole story in a photo.

Not because a cool photo isn’t possible. Because clearly it is. What I mean though is that how hard it is to capture all the months of work these boys put in. The long training sessions. The experimentation with positions, grains, placement, etc. The intensely fast thinking and conversation that goes into the seconds before the buzzer goes off to start. All of it.

You spend hours working through positions, talking through corrections, making mistakes, figuring things out, and watching everything slowly start to click.

And then the buzzer beeps and you only remember hitting the dirt, squeezing the trigger, and hearing steel ring.

I’m always honored to capture that.

That’s a big part of why we put these events together. It’s not just about getting the shot: it’s about learning, pushing yourself to your limits, and sharing the experience with good people.

Looking forward to another day on the range with everyone.

Let’s talk watches.

Everywhere I look, people seem to have their opinions on what makes a good timepiece.

Does it need to be a day date? Time only? Date only?

Pilot? Dive? Field?

Plain Jane? Shiny? A pop of color?

I own a few, and personally I believe all you need is a good looking dive that you can dress up in, and a durable field that you can really destroy. And (again, personal opinion), I just need the date. Even though torchbearertraining might fight me over that opinion 😂
