Effective immediately, I will no longer be doing photo sessions under the name Ebony Ivory Rose.

This is bitter sweet news for me to share. Bitter because the name has so much personal meaning to me. But it’s also sweet because this will allow for me to do so much more than I was originally intending to do.

At the beginning of 2023 I decided I wanted to be a bo***ir photographer for a number of reasons. However, I started to get inquaries for other types of sessions like family and senior photos - both of which involving minors.

Me being me, I wanted to protect any kiddos that I get to interact with through my business. I don’t want them being associated with my bo***ir photos. Not that there is anything wrong with bo***ir! It is such a beautiful art form. I just feel that both forms of photography need to be separate.

With that being said, I would love to introduce my new businesses, BnRose Bo***ir for the bo***ir portraits, and BnRose Photography for the non-bo***ir photos including nature prints!

My first ever pop-up is less than a month away!  On Saturday October 14th, I will be doing photo sessions at Hell’s Hollow! I am letting you have your choice of a mini session (30 minutes) or a standard session (60 minutes). During this time we will be able to explore the trails and the falls!   These sessions are open to be whatever you want them to be! Whether a senior photo session, a couple photo session, updated headshots, or a themed session, I am so excited to capture your moment!  Since these pop-up sessions are on a set day in a set place, these will be discounted! Raise your hand if you have ever wanted to schedule a phot session but didn’t know where to start and got overwhelmed by needing to choose a day and a location. 🙋🏾‍♀️  Yep, that’s right. I’m raising my hand too. I have been in that situation where I have wanted to have a photo session done (by someone other than myself) and the process is too daunting. Anxiety creeps in and it just gets to be too much for me to handle causing me to put it off.

If this sounds like you, I have a solution! Pop-up session days!

Pop-up sessions will be once a month. I will choose the location and the day, you choose the time that works best for you! Whether you prefer a one-hour session to capture all the details, or a quick 30-minute one to snap some amazing shots, the choice is yours!  The locations will change every month so if there is a location you LOVE make sure to sign up as soon as the details are announced!

The first one will be in October so stay tuned because I will be announcing the details this week!

These 4 photos are my last large prints I have available in my shop. They are all 8x10 gloss print matted on a white core bevel cut 11x14 mat on the front and back. The photos are placed in the mat with linen tape to make for easy removal if you prefer to put the photo in your favorite frame. These photos make for great decor in your home ☺

This beautiful sunflower has a special place in my heart. It is one of the first nature photos that I took that sparked an emotional response for me. Usually, sunflowers represent happiness and summer, but standing alone, head down in the rain, it sparks a bit of a sadness. Even though it is heavy from the rain, it will dry off and stand tall again. It feels poetic to me 🌻

⚠️REAL TALK⚠️

The past few months have been A LOT to say the least. We lost my mother-in-law unexpectedly, moved, had car trouble, had to put our cat down and more - all since February 14th when we found out rent at our old place was going up significantly. All of this has caused me to pivot not only in my personal life but in my professional one as well. ��Goals have not been met, I had to put my business on hold, it has felt like everything has been non-stop pummeling us. But my husband and I are healing. We had to take time to pause everything in life and be present with each other and family. Of course there’s still pain. We have open emotional wounds. But again, we are healing.

One thing that has helped me along is to be grateful for the little things in life. Actually taking time to stop whatever I am doing, take a deep breath, and thank God for something that could be so small. I write it down. I go back through and slowly read what I wrote to feel those feelings of gratefulness again.

I feel great hope for our future and I am excited for the journey that is to come. I have plans, God has plans, and I can’t wait to see them come to fruition.

On Thursday I announced that my March books are open! Since the weather is going to start getting warmer (spring is just around the corner!), I can’t wait to get outside for outdoor sessions! BUT the March books are open for more than the outdoor sessions. They are open for indoor bo***ir sessions too!
