You might not think of Marin County Civic Center as a great location for photos but hot diggity, it brought the vibes. Loved that asked for more experimental work in this year’s gallery, and mentioned ’s work as an inspiration. This pushed me to try my hand at some funky composites (watch til the end to see a really rad escalator photo inspired by M.C. Escher), and to bring my with me.

So what do you think? Did we nail it?

Wondering what a roll of fun film would look like in the studio? and family chose to add a roll onto their session and the results were delightful if I do say so myself.

It’s always a pleasure using , and after trying to hand fog my own film I’ll leave it to the professionals. 🤪

I recently made the decision to let go of my studio at the end of the year, but that doesn’t mean studio sessions will be gone too! They may look a little different but I’m going to find a way to keep making the happen. Until then, I’m still booking studio sessions through mid-December.

I’ve delivered all the studio micro minis from a couple weeks ago so I can finally share some! I really loved doing these, the simple backdrop just keeps the focus on the family while still adding some fun color into the mix. I think I want to do these again in the fall, but what color should I pick?

This is how I spent my early afternoon today. Can’t beat a Fresh 48 to lift your spirits! ✌🏻This fam booked their session last weekend because they knew they were going to the hospital on Tuesday and decided they DID want newborn photos after all. No shame in doing things last minute! It’s why I keep my schedule so flexible.

Can I tell you a secret? I’m not great at selling stuff. I’m impulsive and it’s hard for me to plan out when to announce things because I usually just sit down and schedule things and then forget about mentioning them ahead of time. It’s just not my strong suit.

But And so here I am telling you about the four workshops coming up in the next four months. Swipe to see the schedule. Each workshop is designed for all levels (except intro to film since it’s an intro class 🤪) so don’t feel intimidated! Pricing includes all materials (other than cameras for the first three, I’ll have a few Polaroids available for the emulsion lift class).

I am currently nursing a pretty nasty cold. Not the start to the New Year I was hoping for but I’m trying to be gentle with myself and embrace the brain fog for the next few days while things are quiet…mainly because I can’t really think clearly at the moment. 🤪

How’s your new year starting out?

Spending the weekend reading and doing cozy things so I can bring that quiet energy into 2024. The fact that the year starts on a Monday feels really great…like any intentions I put out there will come true. What do you think?

Last session of 2023 is tomorrow morning, then I’m off for two whole weeks! 💫 This year has been wild and crazy, and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings. Hopefully all good things for all good humans. 🤞🏻

Ok, how cute is this little friend?! We had a great time in the studio, and I love how this backdrop in a bag creates a fun little visual explosion of color! I think I’ll have to bring these out when Back To School Kid Portraits roll around next summer!

As much as I love summer and short sleeves, I’ve been relishing sweater weather and my new wool socks. There’s nothing better than getting cozy in bed with your loved ones (other than having photos taken of said coziness so you can remind yourself what it’s like when it’s hot outside).
