This morning, just after 0630 hours, West Earl Fire Station 29, MTFR Truck 204, Rothsville, New Holland Ambulances and medic units were dispatched to SR222 south, just south of the Brownstown interchange, for a vehicle crash. SR222 south was closed until the vehicles were removed. West Earl and Bareville Fire police assisted traffic around the scene.

This afternoon at, just after 2:00 PM, West Earl Fire Station 29 was dispatched to SR222N, just s-o the Peach Rd overpass, for a vehicle crash. It was reported that the trailer being pulled was on its side. Arriving units discovered that there were no injuries and that the roadway was totally blocked.

This morning, at approximately 8:47 AM, West Earl Fire Station 29, Manheim Township Fire Rescue, Rothsville and New Holland Ambulances and Medic Units were dispatched to Oregon Pike and Rose Hill Rd for a vehicle crash with entrapment. Arriving units found no entrapment and cancelled MTFR. Fire Police traffic around the scene till the vehicles were removed.

This morning, at approximately 0815 hours, Akron Volunteer Fire Company 12, Ephrata Ambulance and Medic were dispatched to S 7th St (SR272) and Oak St. for a vehicle crash with rollover. Arriving units discovered all occupants were out of the vehicles. Fire Police assisted traffic around the scene till vehicles were removed.

Wednesday evening at approximately 2230 hours West Earl Fire Station 29, MTFR and EMS Units were dispatched to the SR222N on ramp from SR772 for a crash with entrapment. Arriving units found the tractor trailer (tractor only)down over the embankment. There was no entrapment or injuries. The on ramp was closed till the tractor was removed by Glicks and Morgan Towing.

The public is invited to stop by Akron Borough Hall for a “Coffee with a Cop” opportunity, which will be held this Friday, March 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Akron Municipal Building, 117 South 7th Street, Akron. Stop in and enjoy coffee and donuts and meet your local West Earl/Akron police officers. They welcome your questions or comments regarding the work they do for the community.

Shown in the photo are Akron residents Crystle and Cameron Eby, along with Officer Fields (left) and Officer Blessing (right). Little Cameron is a big admirer of police officers and emergency personnel, and he thought his new friends might want to have a cup of coffee as they check out his mini police cruiser.
