Congratulations to us 🎉🎉👏
My husband, my business partner, my second photographer & my person forever.
we have hit a milestone today. 🫶🏼
3 years ago he joined me on my photography journey, I had been previously been doing it solo for 3 years prior doing just family sessions and senior sessions and tons of nature photos but then one day I was asked to do a wedding; my very first actually , I’ll never forget saying to Brian “ i don’t want to be one of those wedding photographers it’s not me, it’s to stressful, I don’t want bridezilla’s , I’m scared I almost declined I almost said no, but he said to me “babe you got this, I believe in you , I trust you and do only what you can but don’t sell yourself short”.
that day forever changed the game here, he said “I’ll help out I’ll do what I can maybe it’ll take less stress away from you and maybe just maybe we’ll end up loving this thing.
man oh man did that all change that night after the wedding was over and for the 3 years to follow.
I decided that day that i not only loved photography and being a photographer but I also LOVED being a wedding photographer, I loved “everything wedding”I loved meeting new brides and grooms, meeting new families and gaining new friends , I love traveling with my husband and going to new places I’ve never been , I love getting to know my couples some of them have become life long friends and will be for years to come, I love the unique twists and turns on weddings some of them being themed all the way from pirate theme to backyard weddings to church weddings I love also being that person for them, to keeping them calm and sane the day of the wedding for reminding them to drink some water, to stay hydrated when it’s 100° outside, to helping set up and close down if need be, for giving hours upon hours of extra time if needed at no extra cost because that’s just who we are.
I especially love the moments before I do being up close and personal and enjoying that special moment between the two of them.
being behind the camera I just sit there smiling and crying all at the same time (yes I cry a lot photographing and idk why).
when everyone’s chapter opens and everyone’s hearts are full , when love becomes one & when family becomes one whole it totally changed everything about my views on “wedding photography” but having my husband there with me and having him as my second photographer has made everything even better, knowing that there was once only me and now there is two of us running around catching all the moments all the love all the laughs and I gotta say Brian does an incredible job, sometimes we bounce ideas off one another sometimes he over steps me and says no this looks better and while I don’t like to admit it, he’s normally right and I do it just for him 🤣 he keeps me grounded and sane during weddings because sometimes they do get exhausting but he never gives up; he always pushes me forward.
Cheers to year #3 for SB Bailey Photography wedding Duo Team - and cheers to our 18th wedding this coming weekend and many more to finish our year strong and better than the year previously.
I can’t wait to see where we are and where go 🌎
