Since October of 2008, it has been my extreme honor to be a part of countless weddings, milestones, and memories. You’ve trusted me to document some of your most important moments, from births and graduations, to engagements and weddings. Even a few first and last moments too.
Each occasion came with challenges and memories for me as well. I remember each and every one of you. (OK, maybe not all the names cause I’m really bad at that… but I remember your events, your smiles, your big plans, and your small details. I remember how much I learned from all of you over the years, not only as a photographer, but also as a business owner and person. You’ve made me think critically, challenge myself, and push beyond what I thought was possible. We've won some awards, been published internationally, and traveled more than I ever could have hoped. What an amazing journey! It’s been an absolute pleasure to be a part of your lives.
Now, almost 15 years later, the time has come to step away from this career that I’ve grown into and loved so much. Over the past few years, I’ve thought more and more about the things that are important to me and where I see my path going in the future. For this reason, I will no longer be accepting weddings or portrait clients. I'm still making some decisions about other branches of photography, but I do know that The Modern Heart, as you've known it for many years, is coming to an end in 2023 after I finish my current contracts.
I know this decision will leave some of you without a "go-to" photographer and I will do everything I can to help each of you find someone that I know and trust completely who will be a perfect fit for your needs. Please reach out to me for a referral or personal introduction!
Again, it's been an honor and joy to work with all of you, to capture your memories, and to tell a little piece of your story. I'm excited to see where the next stage of my journey goes and to see what new moments will be a part of it. For right now, you can find me most frequently at The Magnolia Room, a small event venue that I opened with a friend in 2020. It will be holding my focus and energy for the foreseeable future, but who knows what could sneak into the plans next! After all, pre-October 2008, I never thought I would be a professional photographer, but look at what we've managed to create together!

P.S. - My greatest piece of advice after 15 years of wedding photography is this: when in doubt, always choose a fur baby ring bearer.
