This might sound counterintuitive, but if you want the feeling of slower paced laid back living, visit a small town rodeo. Yes the rodeo is of course fast paced and can be unforgiving, but the entire energy surrounding the event is what makes you appreciate some things you might be missing.

Do you want to get in? Cash only, sorry no credit card reader.
Do you want to get a hamburger and a beer? 5 bucks for a burger and 3 bucks for a beer.

White, Black, or Hispanic they are in attendance and watching together in the stands. Talking to each other. Prayer and patriotism are prevalent. Kids are running around and hanging out during the rodeo with little cell phone use in site. As a matter of fact where we were, there was not even really cell service which was a nice disconnect.

This town was far out from some of your everyday conveniences, but what was prevalent was the community support and togetherness not only at this rodeo, but the various summer rodeos here in Texas. That to me is what I enjoy most about where we live in Texas is the people and the community.

These pictures were from Ladonia Rodeo Association Inc. in Ladonia, Texas and it just reminded you of I guess "The way things used to be." Whatever that is, I am not that old, but old enough to know time goes by way too fast. I dont know why we chase that feeling so often of nostalgia and going back in time. But we do. Anywho here are a couple pictures I took from this past weekend to share a little bit of real life.

This was at Jolene’s in Sydney Australia back in march. I was just talking to my friend about this night and how much I love this full clip. It’s so good and I was so tired at the time. It was such a full day and this was probably around 1:00 AM but the memories of this night looking back were so much fun. Classic country in a small country bar in Australia. Such a memorable experience

Eastern Screech Owlets making an appearance in North Texas this past weekend.

Said hello to two eastern screech owlets on Saturday night. The second made their appearance closer to dusk. The larger sibling was a little more curious.

Wrapped up some family time in Florida and the sunsets did not disappoint. I love the colors the sky produces there and the palm tree silhouettes are always so relaxing to look at to me.
