In the Valley carries more than one meaning for me.

On the surface, it’s about a place… moving back to the valley of Eugene, Oregon. A geography I didn’t expect to return to. Familiar roads. Old memories. A landscape that holds both comfort and resistance.

But underneath that… it’s about another valley.

The kind you don’t see on a map.
The kind where faith feels heavy, prayers feel quiet, and obedience costs more than you thought it would.
One of the hardest spiritual seasons of my life, where I had to keep walking even when I couldn’t see what was ahead.

This song was written in the middle of that tension.
Between leaving and staying.
Between trust and fear.
Between believing God is good and wondering why the path still hurts.

I called it In the Valley because valleys aren’t just places you pass through… they’re places that shape you.
They strip you down.
They teach you how to listen.
They remind you that growth doesn’t always look like forward motion… sometimes it looks like going back so God can do something deeper.

If you’re in a valley right now, geographically, emotionally, or spiritually—this song is for you.
You’re not forgotten here.
You’re not failing here.
And you’re not alone.

Sometimes the valley is where the song is born. 🌿🎶
