Your bo***ir session doesn't end when I take the last photograph.
Honestly?

That's when my favorite part begins. The image reveal. This is the part where you sit down with me and see yourself differently.

We look at your images together. We choose the photographs that tell your story. Then we decide how you want to experience them in your everyday life. I don't believe this work should live forever on a hard drive.

You did not spend the time, energy and courage to create these images so they could disappear into a digital folder named "Bo***ir FINAL 2."

You created art. YOU ARE ART!!! Art deserves somewhere to live. That's why I offer heirloom albums, folio boxes and wall art designed to become part of your space.

The reveal isn't a sales appointment. I actually hate sales... It's the final chapter of the experience. It's the highlight of your session. Seeing you truly SEE yourself is SO incredible.

One of the weirdest things about being photographed is being photographed... Let's be honest.

(Insert "I don't know what to do with my hands" moment)

You know what you THINK you see in the mirror.
You know what you THINK you see when you get dressed.
You know the version of yourself you THINK you've gotten used to seeing.

But you don't necessarily know what you look like when you're laughing. Or when you're completely relaxed. Or when you are owning the whole damn room.

That's one of the reasons I guide you during your session.
I'm not waiting for you to magically "know what to do."
I'm looking for the little things while you get to move around and not feel stuffy.

The way you move. The way you hold yourself. The expression that happens when you forget I'm holding a camera.

That's the woman I'm after.
Not the perfectly posed version.
The real one.

The best photos of you are the ones where you let me show you who the hell you really are.

Let's talk about hair and makeup, you know the thing that should be fun and spicy but can also be overwhelming.....

I don't include professional hair and makeup in my bo***ir experience because I think women need to be "perfect". Quite the opposite. I include it because the woman who walks into my studio deserves to be taken care of. UM.... PAMPERED!!!!

You deserve to sit down. You deserve to have someone else worry about the details for a little while. You deserve to look in the mirror and see yourself looking like a baddie!

Makeup doesn't make you confident, it simply puts you in bad b*tch mode.
That's why hair and makeup are part of the House of Shewmaker experience.
We are setting the stage with all the bad b*tch energy.

I don't want your before and after.

I know. Weird thing for a photographer to say.
But I've been thinking about this a lot.

Women are constantly encouraged to document themselves as a "before."

Before the weight loss.
Before the divorce.
Before the glow-up.
Before the new job.
Before the surgery.
Before the transformation.

And then we celebrate the "after."

But what about the woman who was there for all of it?
The woman who kept going.
The woman who made the decisions.
The woman who changed her life.
The woman who didn't wake up one morning magically transformed, but slowly became someone she was proud of.

I don't want to photograph you as evidence of who you used to be.
I want to photograph you as evidence of who you are.

Right now.

Because someday, you're going to look back at this version of yourself and realize she deserved to be celebrated too.

That's the woman I want in my studio.
Not a project.
Not a before picture.

A badass woman with a story.
