A little note about privacy: I completely understand that many parents prefer not to have their children shared online—and I will always honor that request, no questions asked. 🤍

Your family’s privacy will always matter more to me than having images to post. I’m grateful this sweet family allowed me to share a few moments from their maternity session while keeping their little one’s face and identity private.

You never have to choose between preserving your memories and protecting your children. We can always create something beautiful within the boundaries that feel right for your family.

A little clarification about the photos behind the clock at the Old Courthouse 🕰️

The opportunity to photograph this sweet couple there was an incredibly special exception because the bride-to-be's grandfather served as the courthouse clock’s caretaker for many years. It was a meaningful way to honor her family’s connection to such a historic place.

Since sharing the photos, I’ve learned that the courthouse has received several inquiries from others hoping to access the same space. Because the area behind the clock presents significant safety and liability concerns, it is not ordinarily open or available for portrait sessions.

I’m so grateful we were trusted with this rare opportunity, but please be kind to the wonderful people who care for the Old Courthouse if they’re unable to accommodate additional requests.

This wasn’t a new photography option being offered—it was simply a beautiful, one-time exception made for a family with a very special history there.

I can still offer sessions inside the old courthouse anytime (with special consideration and scheduling with the OCH) but the clock would not be accessible again.

Starting September 1, I’m changing the way I share my work around here. 🎞️

I’ll be putting much more of my photography, sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes content and new creative work on Instagram and TikTok:

Facebook just hasn’t been working particularly well for me or my business for a while. Reach has become wildly unpredictable, and I’ve realized I’ve been putting a lot of energy into trying to make a platform work that simply isn’t giving much back.

There’s a more personal layer to this, too.

The last couple of years have been an incredibly difficult season of my life. I’ve been navigating some enormous personal changes while simultaneously trying to keep a business I’ve spent more than 20 years building alive and moving forward.

And then there was the whole “my social media was literally taken over by a scammer” chapter. 🙃

I eventually regained control, but that experience genuinely rocked my relationship with social media. When something you’ve spent years building can suddenly be taken away from you, it changes the way you feel about relying so heavily on one platform.

So this feels like a good time for a little reset.

I’ve been feeling more creatively alive behind my camera lately than I have in a long time. I want to make photographs that feel alive, not just look pretty. I want movement and stories and strange locations and real personalities. I want to show you the process behind those photographs, too.

Instagram and TikTok both feel like places where I can have a little more fun doing that.

And because starting a new chapter is considerably more fun when there are prizes involved…
