Erin Aasland Photography

Erin Aasland Photography Erin Aasland is a Lifestyle Portrait + Documentary Wedding photographer based out of Snoqualmie, Wa. That is why I try to make them as stress-free as possible.

My name is Erin and I am all about documenting real connections. I know how stressful life can be, especially for photoshoots. And what we capture from your session will be heartfelt + true to your unique family. Because that is what we look back on and cherish -- all those beautiful crazy interactions. "We are all unique... that is what needs to be photographed -- The love, the laughter, the wild, the messy, and all the little moments in between." Draw close + feel... Let's capture the real.

✨spring may studio mini event!

waking up in the sunshine this morning, i thought why the heck not! so here is a little special, to celebrate may and all the recent sunshine!

i am hosting mini sessions in my beautiful natural light studio for a select few days in may. these mini’s are rooted in the same style as my full sessions ; capturing connection, love, and all those sweet in-between moments together.

mini sessions only happen a few times a year, so don’t wait and grab a spot while you can! link below or in bio for more info, cannot wait to see you there!

✨after a recent session, i actually remembered to stop and snag a selfie in one of my favorite spots at my studio.

while the studio has a beautiful white brick wall, and a dark grey accent wall, as well as huge almost floor to ceiling windows — it’s this spot, where the light filters thru that gets me every time. i just love the angles of sunlight that is created.

soooo, i figured why the hell not stand here and snag a little selfie. sometimes it’s good to just stand in a favorite spot for a while and take in the energy.

i don’t show my face on here enough, i know. but so often i’m wrapped up in the sessions and connecting with my clients, that i forget to grab any behind the scenes content. and then, i always remember when i’m halfway home and goofy smiling about the fact that this is my job and i love it. 🤣

as a documentary photographer, it’s more in my nature to be in the background capturing all the magic as it unfolds, vs making you stop to perform so i can take videos for my bts needs, or running around during your day worrying about setting up things to grab for my “content”. it’s honestly too distracting from capturing your magic in the moment.

✌🏻so this is me, taken sometime in march, standing in my favorite spot at my studio.

✨generations

whether it be for family portraits or at weddings, this is easily one of my favorite images to capture. and i absolutely love that grandparents are being included more often in yearly family sessions.

i do offer extended family sessions, which give us a little more time to capture all the important groupings. summer is fast approaching — let me know if you would like to get on the calendar!

when a session is all about celebrating grandma; be still my heart. the smile on her face while all her grandchildren run around her… beyond priceless.

i’m also a sucker for those “lighting test shots”…everyone is always so relaxed, which allows those beautifully candid moments to unfold. being quiet and taking notice is a big part of my shooting style, the good shots easily present themselves ✨

when i am able to continue being a part of my wedding client’s important life milestones… it is such an honor.

this was the most beautiful nursing set up - an amazing picture window, perfect rocker, and a comfy spot for the hubs (and kitty!) to be a part of these moments.
