Apparently, August in the Pacific Northwest decided to cosplay as October. 😂

We planned this big extended family session for a Sunday morning in August at the Everett Arboretum, fully expecting summer. Then, about three days beforehand, the forecast did what PNW forecasts do and suddenly… rain. ☔️

But when you’re coordinating Mom + Dad, five grown kids, spouses, grandkids, and a whole bunch of tiny humans, you don’t just casually reschedule. So at 9am, everyone showed up in their August clothes for our October weather, and we made it happen.

And LOOK AT THEM. 🤍

So many people to wrangle. So many little ones. So much patience and good humor from this entire crew. And somehow, right in the middle of the drizzle and chaos, we got all of this.

This is exactly why I love extended family sessions. It’s not just one family photograph. It’s grandparents with their babies and their babies’ babies. Siblings grown up. Cousins together. New little faces added to the family tree.

A whole lot of life in one frame. And absolutely worth getting a little wet for. ❤️

It’s the last first day ever for this guy and a whole class of 2027 seniors. The sunrise is done. Waiting on that sunset...

Senior sessions with the guys just hit different when they bring the things that actually feel like them.

The letterman. The stick. The car. A little downtown grit, a little golden field, and one seriously good PNW evening.

Jack gave me plenty of range with this one, from polished to tough to that killer black + white LAX shot that might just be one of my favorites from the night.

Jack’s senior session deserved all of it. We chased that gorgeous late-summer light, brought out the lacrosse gear, took the car downtown, and somehow managed to fit a whole lot of him into one evening.

LAX state champ. 4.0 student. Great smile when I could convince him to give me one. 😂

This kid has a whole lot going for him, and I have a feeling senior year is just the beginning. ❤️

Golden light, mountain views, two very good doggies, and a girl who is equal parts gorgeous and tough as nails.

She’s also a 🥎 catcher, which means I was already biased. 😉 There’s just something about the girls behind the plate. Gritty, fearless, a little crazy in the best possible way.

This one was worth every mile. 🤍
