Deb is a friend who's witnessed my unfolding journey, moving photography from a part-time gig to full-time, and back to part-time again, as I shift with where my heart leans and with what my family needs. I loved doing this session with her. We did a lot of planning and prep-work, and this session included a lot of laughing as we succeeded with some of our plans and fail-forwarded with others. The thing I've come to realize is the more 'play' that happens, especially during the sessions, the more magical the images, every time...

I know it can be tricky getting comfortable in front of the lens, but I do my best to help you get out of your head and back into being YOU, so the experience is actually fun and so you love the images we co-create.

And sometimes I get to photograph my own family! Derek and I met in Golden for his HS Senior session. We got a great mix of the rustic buildings, downtown murals and natural landscapes. So grateful to capture these moments, especially for my fam.

Connor's session was at the same Evergreen location as his brother Garrett's. I love photographing siblings and seeing similarities and differences. Both boys couldn't have been sweeter and willing to be present during the session. That's NOT something you see everyday. Loved capturing Connor's easy smile.

Mendhi is such a ray of light - not just in her photos, but in real life too. She even published a book and gave a TED talk that's all about finding the possibilities in any situation. I loved capturing her essence in one of my favorite Evergreen-area parks.

I don't know if I'm just lucky or what, but every HS senior I photograph is pretty extraordinary. They have so much passion, interest in the world and so many dreams and plans for their future. Morgan was no exception in her exceptionality. We photographed her in Jeffco Open Space's Elk Meadow and at some top secret locations in Evergreen. And we got some rain and umbrella time!

Avery's session was another very fun one. They're a one-of-a-kind human and I loved capturing all their varied interests, passions, and loved how many different fashion 'looks' they could pull off, effortlessly. These were photographed in the studio and up by Mestaa'ehehe Pass in Evergreen.

Derrien was another of my High School Senior Portrait models. In this session we partnered with local clothing store, Dare Boutique. They helped to style her looks. We explored local open space parks, including O'Fallon and Lair o' the Bear. Love shooting with Derrien and shooting in the unique winter landscapes and light.

Ally and her family had their shoot on a day that ended up being pretty overcast and we had some sprinkles towards the end of the session. This type of weather is not typical for Colorado and many think they don't want to shoot in hazy/cloudy days. While we will typically reschedule if there's a lot of rain/snow - anything that could lead to dangerous conditions - I want to make an argument for the beauty of the light here.

I mean, Ally is clearly a gorgeous gal, and this light - the softness and glow is pretty ideal. This light is more muted, the shadows less harsh and more forgiving, allowing for more shooting options. AND, with some rain, we can incorporate umbrellas, boots - which are always fun props.

Garrett's High School Portrait session. I LOVE when the guys are just as willing to adventure on these shoots as the ladies are. Climb on huge rock? No prob. Incorporate fun hat? On it. This was another very fun session.

Britt came to the studio for a Tween session. It was so fun to capture her and weave in her various passions and interests. You saw Britt's two older sisters on-location in a couple of previously shared videos. I LOVE how these sessions capture aspects of the kids that they don't - or can't - see for themselves at this age.
