Happy 1st Birthday to this handsome little prince! 👑💙

He was so curious about everything during his session. He cried a little, then laughed a little, then cried a little more. 😂 But by the end, the smiles got bigger and bigger! I think he knew his session was almost over and decided he better give us the good stuff before he left. Lol!

And he definitely did! We got some great pictures and, most importantly, ended the session on such a happy note. 💙

These little personalities at ONE...you never know what you’re going to get, but that’s part of what makes these memories so special.

I remember growing up hearing stories about my great-grandparents. I knew their names. I heard about who they were and the lives they lived.

But I never had a face to put with the stories.

I also have very few pictures of myself from the earliest years of my life. So when I had my daughter, I was determined to do things a little differently. I wanted to take the pictures. Pictures of her, pictures of us together, the everyday moments and the special ones.

I wanted her to be able to look back and see her life, not just hear about it.

And over the years, we've been able to do just that. One day, when she starts a family of her own, she'll have those memories to share with them too. She'll be able to show them where she came from, who loved her, what we looked like, and how life changed through the years.

That's why family photos mean so much to me.

A lot of times, we don't realize how important a photograph is until it's one we wish we had.

So this fall, take the picture.

Get Mom in it. Get Dad in it. Bring the kids. Bring Grandma and Grandpa if you can.

Don't wait until everybody loses the weight, finds the perfect outfit, gets the perfect hairstyle, or until life finally slows down...because we already know life isn't slowing down. 😂

Take the time to invest in your family's memories and preserve a little piece of your family's story.

Because one day, somebody may be telling stories about you and they'll have a face to put with the story. 🤎
