A beautiful morning at Oatlands with this amazing family of 7. ❤️

One of my favorite ways to make family portraits more meaningful is encouraging families to bring something that reflects who they are right now. A favorite hobby, sport, instrument, or activity adds another layer to the story and helps create images that feel uniquely personal.

This family embraced the idea, and I loved seeing each child’s personality shine through. Years from now, these photographs won’t just remind them what everyone looked like—they’ll bring back memories of this season of life and the things that brought them joy.

After capturing family portraits at Oatlands, we wrapped up the session with an impromptu family football game on the lawn. The laughter was contagious, the smiles were genuine, and the joy was impossible to miss. These are the moments that often become a family’s favorite memories—and favorite photographs.

Busy week here in DC capturing incredible events and meaningful connections! I’m currently at the beautiful Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown photographing a 3-day conference for Federal Home Loan Banks, and tonight I’m heading to a rooftop corporate event in the city. There’s something so inspiring about documenting the energy, collaboration, and moments that bring people together. Grateful for the opportunity to do what I love in such an amazing city.
