It was such a gift to be asked to capture this intimate wedding for my friend and former colleague.
I arrived on a beautiful fall day in October and was greeted by the hustle and bustle of all Sarah and Luke’s favorite people working to put together a day that felt told their unique love story.

All the details they put together for their wedding were so…them. From a fun Polaroid station to custom cozies to cufflinks and jewelry that were special to them.

Their friends and family were so excited to celebrate them, and the outpouring of love and support was truly beautiful to witness.

What I actually mean when I say I want your elopement day to be perfect…

Do I mean I want everything to go off without any issues at all? No, because that’s not real life.

I want your wedding day to be perfectly imperfect.

Windswept hair.
Mud-caked boots.
Dirt on your dress.

I want you to ugly cry during your vows and belly laugh when I ask you to make unbroken eye contact (I think we all can agree it’s weird and hilarious).

I want you to be having so much fun at one spot that we completely skip the next location on the itinerary.

I want you to be eat cold pizza on a mountain and drink flat champagne because you wanted to spray it more than drink it.

I want candid moments, real feelings, honest reactions.

I want your day to be perfect in the way that completely letting yourself go to soak in every single moment makes it perfect.

I want a day that’s all yours, really and truly.

I absolutely love including black and white images in your galleries. From details like your dress and flowers to little moments up close, a black and white photo adds such depth and meaningful storytelling to your day, in a way that I think color can’t match.

M + T wanted an experience for their engagement photos that reflected their love of the outdoors, so we planned an adventure session that included champagne, frolicking in the Aspen trees, and a 4x4 road to an incredible alpine lake.

These two braved wind and rain and were rewarded with this gorgeous lake completely to themselves.

Do you ever shoot traditional weddings?

I get this question quite a bit, and while I mostly capture outdoor elopements, I do take on a few more traditional weddings each year!

This intimate wedding was one of my favorites. Alannah and Nick planned a wedding with their favorite people and it was the most beautiful, authentic day. I definitely wanted their families to adopt me—especially after sharing a karaoke rendition of Cruel Summer and watching their dads battle on the dance floor (IYKYK).

There were plenty of quiet moments they shared as a couple while also getting to celebrate with their favorite people. It was truly a best of both worlds kinda day.

a summer’s eve in Crested Butte on the solstice.

These two wanted to celebrate their elopement with just their pup, the mountains, and fields of purple lupine.

They said their vows, sealed it with a shotski and then we hopped from spot to spot, while they shared slow moments together and Lucy zoomied in some river mud.

Crested Butte has so many incredible spots to explore, it really never gets old. From summer to winter, the views never disappoint and there’s always an adventure to be found.

Happy New Year! I’m so excited for 2026 couples to experience the exact wedding day they dreamed of! If you’re a 2026 couple in the initial planning stages, here are some tips:

✨ sit down together (maybe over a drink and some snackies) and really dive into how each of you wants the day to go.

🏔️ consider different locations and timeframes for your elopement

📷 reach out to your list of photographers soon! We’re booking up for this year and we can help take some of the planning stress off your plate.

💴 take your budget into account and decide what your priorities are for allocating it!

🌧️ be flexible! The more flexible you can be with dates, locations, etc. the more likely you’ll be to book your dream vendors!

🫶🏼 circle back with your inquiries—even if it’s a no! We’re all humans on the other side of these social media sites and are pumped to potentially work with all of you, so the ghosting hurts!
