Even when the flowers didn't cooperate, the families did. 🌻

We just posted a behind-the-scenes look at one of our summer mini sessions in Pittsford, where most of the black-eyed susans had dried up before we even got there. It's a good reminder of why we've always cared more about the connection between families than the setting around them.

Tis the season -- and no, I don't mean Christmas. Over the next week, it's the annual overlap when both Lori and Erin are out of the office at the same time. Even photographers take vacations!

Things may be a little quiet around here, and we might be slower to respond than usual -- but we'll be back soon. (Put on your patient pants, as we tell our kids. 😄)

Little tip for family sessions with young kids? Be like Elsa and let it go.

The more you try to wrangle them, the fewer real smiles you get.

Sometimes that means you end up with a nose-picking gem to pull out at a family dinner in 10 years.

Sometimes you get exactly the family portrait you were hoping for.

Most of the time with us - you get both.

As a Pittsford Mendon Class of 2026 senior, Matt brought an easygoing confidence that made every picture feel natural. Between the setting and the evening light, we captured a mix of classic and relaxed senior pictures that reflect who he is right now.
