The fog was rising as we reached the crater floor, and there were many eland scattered across the plain. One might call it a "herd", except it was thinly distributed with a few here, a few over there, all moving and actively grazing just about any direction one looked. I looked for opportunities to intercept a subject close to the road, but nothing happened early. They were relaxed, but kept their distance. Ngorongoro Crater, March 2016.
