One week ago, in the early hours of the morning, our Pippa crossed the rainbow bridge. She was home, in our arms, and not afraid. It was something we had both prayed for. We didn’t want to be the ones to choose to let her go. It felt like her final act of love.
Pippa joined our family when she was just eight weeks old, and for the last fourteen and a half years, she has been my constant. Through every move, career change, pregnancy, and loss, she was there. She shared in all of the loud moments and the quiet ones, always loyal, always happy to see us.
We loved her, and she loved us without condition. Our home is quiet now. I miss the tap of her paws, her little face waiting to greet us at the door, and the huge presence she somehow carried in her tiny body.
We are so grateful for every year, every memory, and every sweet little “I love youuu” she gave us. Pippa, I am so thankful we found each other. I know we will find each other again.
