My first glimpse of the Okefenokee. 🛶🌿

Blackwater smooth as glass, cypress trees reflected across the surface, and a landscape that seems to double itself in the water.

Quiet, wild, and absolutely beautiful.

This is only the beginning of what I found there. 💚

Hello everyone! 🛶✨

I wanted to share something special with you today.

As you know, I spend my time exploring wild, quiet places and documenting the raw beauty I find along the way. I often use my favorite photographs as wallpapers on my own phone, and they always bring me back to those moments.

That’s why I decided to officially open a small digital shop under Florida World Nature and share some of those views with you.

Right now, I’ve uploaded my first 4 exclusive phone wallpapers, each connected to a real expedition and a real story:

🌅 A breathtaking golden-hour sunrise at Canaveral National Seashore.
⛈️ A dramatic fiery-orange storm sky captured during a Mosquito Lagoon expedition.

Every image is high-resolution, tested on my own screen, and comes directly from a real Florida World Nature journey.

Another beautiful spring along the Santa Fe River. 💧

Crystal-clear groundwater bursts directly from a crack in the limestone and immediately meets the dark waters of the river.

There is no separate spring run here. Instead, the flow creates a stunning crystal-clear pool right along the river’s edge.

Above the surface, you can see the water flowing from the limestone. But underwater, it becomes even more beautiful — incredibly clear blue water, limestone formations, and the opening where the spring emerges from beneath the ground.

One more beautiful gift from Florida’s karst landscape — right beside the Santa Fe. 💙

FIELD NOTES 💚

**When habitat disappears, wildlife does not disappear with it.**

Florida has authorized another regulated black bear hunt for 2026. Applications for permits will open September 11, and the hunting season is scheduled for December 5–27.

A total of 193 permits will be available across four Bear Harvest Zones, including public lands such as Ocala Wildlife Management Area, Rock Springs Run, Seminole Forest and Silver Springs Forest.

FWC describes the hunt as a way to manage population growth in areas with the largest bear populations. The agency also acknowledges that hunting does not resolve conflicts between bears and people.

And this is the part that is difficult to ignore:

As forests are divided by roads and development, bears are pushed into smaller and increasingly fragmented spaces. They cross highways, enter neighborhoods and search for food near people—not because they invaded our world, but because our world continued expanding into theirs.

First, we took their home.

Now, they pay the price.

The Econlockhatchee River looked completely different on this paddle.

I paddled from CR 419 to Snow Hill Road during unusually high water. In some places, the river had spilled beyond its banks and into the surrounding forest, turning the woods into a temporary flooded landscape.

There were plenty of fallen trees and obstacles along the way, while the more open stretches revealed just how strongly the river was moving.

High water made this stretch of the Econ feel wilder, bigger, and almost completely transformed.

And despite all the obstacles, it was absolutely beautiful. 🛶🌿

The Atlantic was powerful enough to tear this massive steel buoy free, carry it ashore, and drive it deep into the sand.

And years later, the ocean is still slowly taking it apart.
