This is Flax who is a North Dakota wild stallion. It was so hot while we were there that the wild horses wouldn't start to move, or graze until well after sunset. That made photography life for me very hard since it was always so dark.
This night Flax lost one of his mares and he was running around calling for her. We think she just wandered down the draw a bit, but she was not answering him nor coming back. She was with him the next day, so she didn't go far or get stolen by another stallion.
