The portraits are beautiful… but THIS is what the day actually felt like!!! 🤍

Jordan + Zach’s wedding at Matthews Manor was full of the kind of moments I’m always watching for in between everything everyone knows is supposed to happen.

The bridesmaids all piled together around Jordan before the day really got moving. The reactions when everyone finally saw her in her dress. Zach seeing her for the first time. A tiny flower girl making her way down the aisle. The ceremony kiss. Everybody absolutely losing it as they walked back up the aisle married. The first dance, the speeches, and then a sparkler exit to end it all.

None of these are the “stand here and smile at me” photographs.

They’re the ones where somebody is mid-laugh, mid-cry, reaching for another person, squeezing a little tighter, or completely forgetting there is a camera nearby.

That’s probably my favorite part of photographing a wedding day. I want you to have the gorgeous portraits AND the photos that bring the noise, people, nerves, happy tears, and absolute chaos back with them years later.

Congrats!! You booked your wedding date!!! 🤍

Next up, you officially confirm everything with me, I get your date locked in, and from there you can breathe a little easier knowing one more big thing is DONE.

Then somehow the months fly by and BOOM… it’s wedding day.

You get to actually be in it. Laugh with your people. Hug your family. Fix your veil. Cry a little. Dance a lot. Forget where your phone is. Soak in all the weird, beautiful, emotional little moments that make the day feel like yours.

And while all of that is happening, I’m there documenting it.

Not just the obvious stuff.

The big moments, of course — walking down the aisle, the first kiss, the first dance.

But also the tiny things you probably won’t even realize happened until you see your gallery later. Your mom looking at you while you’re getting ready. Your best friend crying during the ceremony. Somebody absolutely losing it on the dance floor. The quiet few seconds you get alone together before the next thing starts.

All the big, little, and in-between.

Then once the beautiful chaos is over, you get to go home married!!! And I get to start putting the whole story together for you.

You’ll get sneak peeks soon after so you can relive a few favorites right away, and then a few weeks later your full gallery lands in your inbox.

And suddenly you get to experience the day all over again — including all the parts you missed the first time. 🤍

That’s my favorite part of wedding photography. You’re not just getting pretty pictures.

Not every photo session has to be tied to a huge life event. Sometimes the reason is simply, “I want to remember us like this.” 🤍

I photograph so many of the big milestone moments: engagements, growing bellies, brand new babies, senior year, graduations, but I love the in-between seasons just as much. The season where your kids are still little. The season where it’s just the two of you. The season where you’re building something new in your business. The season that doesn’t feel especially monumental right now, but probably will when you look back on it a few years from now.

I offer sessions for couples + engagements, maternity, newborn and lifestyle in-home sessions, families, seniors + graduates, portraits, and personal branding. My goal with all of them is pretty simple: I want your photos to feel like you. Relaxed, natural, meaningful, and not like you spent an hour wondering what to do with your hands. 😂

So whether you’re celebrating something BIG or you just want to remember exactly what life looks like right now, I’m here for it.

Riley + Jake!!! 🤎

This session still makes me so happy!!!

Riley reached out wanting something carefree, relaxed, and a little cozy for her maternity photos, and this open field at sunset ended up being SUCH a good fit. We kept everything easy, let the light do its thing, mixed in a few sweet little baby details, and gave Riley + Jake plenty of room to just be together.

I also loved getting to photograph both sides of this season, the quiet little moments with Riley on her own AND the ones with Jake loving on her and that baby boy. The brown flowy dress against all that warm grass and golden light?? So good. And the ultrasound photos tucked into the second look made the whole gallery feel even more personal.

Maternity sessions do not have to feel stiff or overly posed. Give me an open field, pretty light, an outfit that moves, and two people excited about becoming parents and I am VERY happy!!!

The Payne family came to me with one of those ideas I wish every family would bring: “Can we do the nice family photos at our lake house… and then get on the boat and photograph the whole fam wake surfing?” YES. 😂

We started at their Smith Lake house with the whole family dressed up, grabbed the portraits for the wall, parents, siblings, the dog, all of it. Then everybody changed, we got on the boat, and the second half of the session basically turned into documenting an actual summer evening with them.

That is probably my favorite way to photograph a family. Get the clean portrait you know you want, then make room for the things that actually feel like your life. The boat. The wake. The kids taking turns behind it. Everybody piled together between runs. Those photos are going to mean something completely different years from now because they do not just show what everyone looked like — they show what this season felt like.

Okayyyy Studio 64!!! TEN YEARS!!! 🥹✨

When the ladies at studio 64 first reached out about celebrating 10 years, I fully thought we were talking about photographing a big party 😂 Once I realized we were actually planning a branding session for the whole Studio 64 team, I was even more excited.

This one was SO fun because we didn’t just take a few headshots and call it a day. We photographed the team together, everyone in their own element, the products, the tools, the services, the little behind-the-scenes things clients actually see when they’re sitting in the chair, and plenty of personality too.

And this one felt extra personal because Studio 64 isn’t exactly a stranger to me, I’ve been in their chair myself plenty of times! Getting to turn around and photograph the people behind a business I’ve actually experienced as a client made the whole session feel even more full-circle.

We started with clean, simple team photos in white + denim, switched things up with more colorful looks, worked our way through the salon for individual branding photos, and obviously had to celebrate TEN YEARS with the gold balloons and a little chaos at the end!!!

Branding photos should give you way more than a profile picture. They should give you months of content that actually shows people what it feels like to work with you.

If you own a business around Jasper, Walker County, Fayette, Winfield, or West Alabama and your website/socials are still living off three-year-old phone pictures… this is your sign 😂

Still love how much variety we packed into this session.

We started with that clean, polished downtown Jasper look and then shifted into something softer and more relaxed with all of the fall color and trees. Lexi told me ahead of time that she and Daylan were happy to trust me with posing, locations, and whatever ideas I wanted to try, and that trust always makes a session feel a little more freeing!

SENIORS!!! If your mom has been telling you it’s time to book your senior pictures… this is your sign 😂🤍

One of my favorite things about senior sessions is that they do NOT all have to look the same.

Give me the pretty greenhouse and flowers. Give me a field and a creek. Give me your school, your jersey, the locker room, your cap + gown. Give me the downtown look with clean architecture and something a little more dressed up.

Tori, Nate, and Erica’s sessions are three totally different examples of why I love senior photos so much, the whole point is making them feel like YOU.

Nate’s gallery brought in Jasper High School plus football and soccer. Erica wanted a senior session with both an outdoor/Jones Valley feel and downtown locations. And Tori’s bright greenhouse set is proof you can go completely soft, colorful, and feminine too.

So Class of 2027… I am READY for you!!! If you’re around Fayette, Winfield, Jasper, Tuscaloosa, or the surrounding West Alabama area and you’ve been putting off senior pictures, now is the time to get on my calendar!
