Only 1% of people can pause the video when it’s on the mark…

But everyone can hit the mark with soft limits.

TORQ’s GYRO app includes RED live streaming support directly in the app. All IP based, not an SDI cable in sight. Directly view the feed just plug in ethernet or connect the camera to WiFi.

GYRO app also leverages Apple’s Augmented Reality Toolkit to eliminate gyro drift from the control side. It uses the iPhone or iPad camera/lidar to scan the room the operator is in and augment the gyro with 3D environment data.

IP-based video definitely has more latency than SDI. But recently customers have asked us to help them push camera control to the edge, far beyond the range of SDI transmitters. And IP can work from across the globe, have simple streamlined setup, and allow multiple departments to speak to multiple cameras all over a shared IP link.

This app can view and control a RED and TORQ over a 5G cell connection.

A look inside the filming of this year’s Delta Safety Video with TORQ. A mix of virtual XR stage work and on plane footage. TORQ was used exclusively for every shot both in studio and on location.

Camera and grip department leveraged both the NVVS 3-Axis on stage with the VV 2-Axis pan-tilt on the plane interiors.

On stage, TORQ NVVS’s minimal open architecture allowed for easy location of the stage’s tracking tiara. Nodal camera movement reduces parallax and improves the XR’s stages visual performance.

On location, the TORQ VV’s ultra compact build allowed them to move the camera freely in tight plane interiors. Utilizing a vertical slider on a horizontal slider, TORQ’s could move quickly and a schedule that started 4 hours behind, finished on time.

Now playing onboard every Delta flight.

This is the VV PT TORQ Build with Extender. Being put to use soon on an airplane for interior work. Keeping a super small profile to easily maneuver in tight spaces. The camera is mounted off the lens mount adapter from . Compatible with virtually every shallow fl**ge depth camera out there and PL, PV, LPL and more lenses.

It’s called VV PT because it uses the two Vector (“VV”) motors to form a Pan Tilt (“PT”) head. These are the same motors as used for tilt in the typical TORQ NVVS (Nexus Vector Vector Saturn) build. The same motors are repurposed to make a smaller head. Highlighting how each TORQ system can be build into many different heads to evolve with operator needs and shot requirements.

The wait is almost over. General sales of the Torq Head first edition, “Foundation,” is imminent.

Torq Heads are being built at a steady pace. The hardware is stronger, more precise, and testing well. Software is in beta and progressing with releases roughly every two weeks. It has been in the hands of some amazing beta testers.

We call it “Foundation” because this release is for those that want to build an ecosystem with us. Is it “done”? No, and honestly it will probably never be done. It’s an ecosystem for creatives that want to consistently push the limit year over year. This hardware has the capability to expand, adapt, change like nothing before. And it will. Upon Foundation, a new type of camera workflow will be built. It’s evolutionary.
