Ulderico Images

Ulderico Images I take photos of the universe. Mostly earth at the moment. Looking to branch out. I see photography as a way to capture and preserve the beauty of life.

My photography journey began at the age of 12 and I haven't put down my camera since. I primarily focus on nature, landscape, travel, and wildlife photography, although I do let myself wander.

I know I’m late to the eclipse party but here ya go. After witnessing the 2024 eclipse I knew I had to see and photograph as many total solar eclipses as possible so I began researching and planning the next one in Spain. I envisioned a shot of the coastline with the eclipsed sun hanging over the water. Fast forward two years and we spent three days exploring and scouting much of the northern coast of Spain. There ended up being one beach that particular stood out with sea stacks that would ideally be framed just under the eclipse. It seemed to be just what I envisioned when I started planning. On the evening before the eclipse we decided to drive over two hours back along the coast to this beach the following morning. We awoke to a layer of clouds but trusted that they would burn off as the day wore on. As expected, the clouds did lift and the conditions were looking very promising. This was short lived as a heavy bank of clouds moved in. The radar looked good near a spot we scouted the day before so we drove another hour and a half and arrived with only 30 minutes till totality. I ran around like a maniac setting up tripods and getting my shots lined up with just a few minutes to spare. We were so lucky to have this little cove all to ourselves and get to see one of the most beautiful shows nature puts on. I learned a few things that I will definitely implement for the next eclipse but I’m pretty happy with these images. The first image was the last I took before totality ended as you can see the glow of the sun returning on the right. The second image shows a fainter glow and the third shows the darkest moments of totality. Excited to share a few more images soon.

It was such a treat to spend some time exploring this pristine part of Oregon. I’ve wanted to come to this area for years, and seeing it in person certainly didn’t disappoint.

Since today’s weather is gloomy, I wanted to share these shots I captured earlier in the year on a stormy day overlooking the Boston Mountains. I love how much drama and character the sky when the atmosphere gets rowdy
