Another bad a$$ shark clip from our dive a few weeks ago. was diving and filming with the cam and housing and the shark handler was managing the chum, I was shooting from the side, and then Jeff ( ) was so stoked he was trying to make out with the shark the entire time bc he thought he was in real life sea world. Get on a shark dive with an amazing crew .co , I’m down to go back south for another dive, hit me up and I will arrange it with these explorers!!!

Photos from my 10-year-old daughter, Willow, taken a couple weeks ago at Tigre Island Room during the Brian Ernst show with support from Gilberto ‘77, along with shots from the Johnston Brothers Music and Chambers Waller opening set that evening.

I handed her my Sony A7 IV, gave her a little direction, and let her shoot.

She completely blew me away.

Not just because she’s 10, but because of the eye she already has for capturing a moment, finding an angle and telling a story through a photograph. Give kids real tools, real opportunities and the freedom to create, and sometimes they’ll show you just how capable they really are.

It’s another reminder of why I believe so strongly in encouraging, empowering and authentically educating our youth through real-world experiences: creativity, art, music, technology, craftsmanship and hands-on learning that teaches them how to think, create and discover what they’re capable of.

We need more of that and less fictitious, theoretical, mind-numbing curriculum that tells kids what to think instead of teaching them how to think. Our kids deserve an education that develops curiosity and independent thought, not one that replaces it.

Pretty damn proud of Willow.

Happy birthday to the most influential person in my life, Angela Bowen . My woman. My best friend. My partner in all of it. And still, without question, the love of my life.

Life has taken us through plenty of adventures, and there’s nobody else I’d rather have beside me for whatever comes next. I’m grateful for the life we’ve built, the memories we’ve made, and especially for all the ones we haven’t gotten to yet.

So, a little birthday weekend down south… some golf, some R&R, no real agenda, and whatever else you decide you want to get into.

I hope this next year is one of your best yet. Happy birthday my princess. I love you!❤️🔥🔥❤️

SURF & SKATE MOVIE MATINEE

We’re super stoked to announce our first Surf & Skate Movie Matinee, coming up Monday, September 21 at the amazing Tigre Island Room on N. 2nd Street in downtown Fernandina Beach!

Our first event is sponsored by Southern Edge Studios and Tigre Island Room, kicking off a new monthly gathering for our local surf, skate and film community. We’ll be hosting a matinee once a month on a Monday evening, bringing people together to watch films, hang out and celebrate the culture we all love.
