One of my favorite business books is Raving Fans by Ken Blanchard. Its message is simple: create such an exceptional experience that people can't wait to tell others about it. That is exactly what I strive for with every session!

Creating beautiful photographs is only part of the experience. My goal is for every client to feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely valued from the moment they walk into the studio until they leave. If they walk out feeling better about themselves than when they arrived, I've done my job.

Receiving a review like Jethro's is incredibly rewarding. Knowing he loved both his images and the experience means more than I can say.

Some places simply stay with you, and the French Riviera is one of them.

Over the past 10 days, we explored Monaco, Èze, Antibes, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Nice, Villefranche-sur-Mer, and the beautiful Mediterranean coastline. Every village had its own personality, every winding street told a story, and every overlook offered another unforgettable view.

As a photographer, vacations can look a little different sometimes. While most people are taking in the scenery, I catch myself looking for the right light, searching for compositions, and thinking about how to transform a beautiful place into a meaningful photograph. My wife is a very good woman for tolerating me 🙂.

One of the biggest photography lessons from this trip was just how intense the Mediterranean summer light can be. The most rewarding images came early in the morning and again as evening settled over the coast, proving once again that great light is just as important as a great location.

Here are a few of my favorite images from our unforgettable journey through the French Riviera. I hope you enjoy it through our eyes! We have a ton more images, but don't want to overwhelm.

It was a pleasure welcoming Heather, President and CEO of the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, into the studio for an executive branding session. Together, we created a collection of images ranging from polished executive portraits that can be used in professional communications.

A reminder that some of the best photo opportunities happen between Point A and Point B.

While driving to Missouri for work, I pulled off at a convenient exit in Illinois to photograph this passing storm as the setting sun lit the clouds from behind. Within minutes, the scene was gone.

Sometimes the best photographs aren't planned. They're what happen when preparation meets opportunity.

Sometimes the best photography opportunities happen when you simply decide to explore.

While traveling to Jefferson City, Missouri for work this week, I found myself with some free time after dinner one evening and decided to walk around the Missouri State Capitol with my camera. I've photographed the Capitol before, focusing on night images of the entire structure, but this visit offered a different perspective.

Rather than focusing on the building as a whole, I focused on architectural details and the views from within the colonnades. Towering Corinthian columns, intricate sculptures, sweeping views of the dome, and endless lines and symmetry created photographic opportunities in every direction.

One of my favorite images from this set is the black-and-white perspective looking straight up through the columns. Standing beneath them, it was impossible not to appreciate both the craftsmanship and the sheer scale of the building.

Photography has a way of slowing us down and helping us notice details that might otherwise go unseen.
