Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had a few questions come up that I wanted to clarify — especially since I have many new families joining me this year. My longtime families already know this, but I always want everyone to feel comfortable and informed.

Sharing sneak peeks is always optional. If you ever reach a point where you prefer not to have your family shared online, all you have to do is let me know. My contract includes three privacy options: public sneak peeks, sneak peeks shared without children’s faces shown (like the examples posted below), or no public sharing at all with images delivered privately instead.

Your family’s comfort and privacy matter, and you should always have the option that best fits your needs so you can fully enjoy your session experience.

I wish my words this week were filled with joy and encouragement, but it has been a heavy one. I lost a client this week—someone I had the honor of photographing for the past seven years. When I found out, it felt like the air left my lungs. She was far too young and so full of vibrant life.

If you ever met her, you left with a smile and a lighter heart. She had a way of making people feel better just by being in her presence. I am incredibly grateful for the memories I was able to capture, and at the same time deeply heartbroken for the ones that will never be made—especially those with her husband and her girls.

This loss has been a painful reminder of why I so often encourage families not to wait. It’s easy to say “later” or “we’ll do it another time,” but the truth is that tomorrow is never promised. She deserved so many more tomorrows.

So please, don’t let waiting be the thing that stands in your way. Make the memories. Take the pictures. Create the images. Not just for yourself, but for the people who love you most. They will treasure them more than you’ll ever know. Rest in peace beautiful girl! I will make sure your girls keep having their pictures taken for their mom who loved them so much! 🎀 #🖕🏻cancer

I have been slightly quiet here and taking some time off social media for a bit. It just seemed a lot. So I decided it was ok to step back for a little bit and regroup in winter while I am working on the back side of my business before busy season starts up again. And during that time we adopted a rescue puppy. I love being in the place during this quiet time to be able to focus on him and allowing him the space to rest and adjust before our lives get busy again. In a world that feels heavy with darkness and heartache, I was reminded today that light still exists—so beautifully. Watching one of my seniors dance, shine, and pour her talent into every movement brought joy back into my heart. Thank you for letting me witness your gift.
