This year’s event will benefit Canyon Animal Care Foundation, a local nonprofit doing incredible work by helping families afford critical veterinary care — so they don’t have to face the unimaginable choice between finances and a beloved pet. 💛 Their mission keeps families together, and I’m honored to support it.

The holiday season is filled with love, hope, and moments that remind us what truly matters—and it felt especially meaningful to share these images now. I had the privilege of spending a day at Kingsmark Kennels, creating a cozy holiday space and photographing some truly special souls. A warm bed, simple greenery, and soft light—then letting each pet just be themselves.

From wagging tails (including my own Big Joe ❤️) to sweet cats and even a bearded dragon (!!), every animal brought their own quiet magic. Days like this remind me why photographing pets is so deeply meaningful to me. They give us unconditional love, comfort, laughter, and so much joy—and being trusted to capture that is something I never take lightly.

I’m endlessly grateful to the Kingsmark staff, who care for these pets as if they were their own family. I love how excited Big Joe the Tibetan Mastiff gets when he goes there for daycare, and after these events, I see why he does.

On a day meant for love, connection, and gratitude, I wanted to share these moments with you. I hope they make you smile, soften your heart, and remind you just how special our animals truly are.

You might not know, but I’m an Ancestry.com ju**ie. The more stories I read about my ancestors in the 1700s, and their challenges, sacrifices and struggles, the more our Independence Day means to me. Here’s to hoping none of us forget, that despite our differences and our struggles as a nation, we are all one. Cheers to the USA.

Mother’s Day is approaching and it always brings a mix of emotions for me. I lost my own mom when I was 15 — she was only 48 — and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. Maybe that’s why photographing mothers with their children feels so personal, so sacred. To each and every mama out there who has trusted me with their family history, I am profoundly thankful to each of you. You've helped heal my heart a little bit at each session.

As we head into this Mother’s Day, I just want to say: hold your people close, take the photos, soak in the laughter, and savor the everyday magic. Life moves fast, but love like this — it lasts forever. ❤️
