“Had to go see about a girl.”

Part 1!

Emma is the most understated and kind person I’ve ever met. We met our junior year of college in a Bible study, and my life changed forever when she walked through my front door. She quickly became one of my closest friends and confidants, and it felt like we were kindred spirits (though everyone feels that way when they meet Emma).

She has never been one to seek attention and is always the first to encourage and uplift others. Her sweetness shines through in the way she loves her students as a second-grade teacher. She is patient, and she wasn’t afraid to live life to the fullest while patiently waiting for the right person to come along.

Then one day came Matt. He drove all the way from New Mexico to Arizona just to take her on a first date. It was a leap of faith, but they both went for it. From day one, it was clear this was different. Hearing the excitement in Emma’s voice on that phone call, I knew it too. As it turns out, she found someone who matches her love of nostalgia, thoughtfulness, and faith in God.

Emma is not easy to surprise, and I almost pooped my pants several times while Matt strategically planned this moment 😂 But somehow, she had absolutely NO idea. We managed to surprise her more than once that day.

So much love for you guys. Congratulations to the future Ahlgrims!!!

Views you only find in Arizona, and a session that felt more like a date than a photo session for R+J.

I always tell my couples: this isn’t about posing. It’s a date night… with gentle direction and occasional reminders to flirt (yes, that part is required).

She left saying, “I feel so peaceful out here — I didn’t even know this place existed!”

He followed with, “That was actually really fun. We need to come back and hike here.”
(High praise coming from the guy)

That’s the part I love most — watching the couple who says “they’re awkward in front of the camera” tune into laughter, ease, and real connection. If being in front of the camera doesn’t feel natural to you, that’s okay. My job is to guide you back to what already feels effortless: being with the person you love.

From helping you choose a location that matches the feeling you want, to creating space where you can slow down and stay present, your session is designed to feel calm, intimate, and genuinely enjoyable.

R + J turned theirs into a full date night — sunset photos followed by ramen after.
Highly recommend. Golden hour first, dinner plans after.

Your photos shouldn’t feel like a performance.

This year wasn’t what I expected— but I’m incredibly proud of it🫶🏼 So very thankful for every client who invited me into their most meaningful moments. Every story is a privilege and I love this work more than ever.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your partnership and trust. It’s a pleasure to get to know you and let into the defining beautiful moments that you want to hold on to forever. May you never forget the way you felt that day through the images you have entrusted me to capture.

Here’s a reminder that slow and steady wins the race and not everything is meant to be done all at once (preaching to myself). Glory to God for 2025. Onward into 2026, with intention.
