Whenever I conduct a mission to help find a person or animal, or just basic aerial photography I always make sure the client gives me an acknowledgement that they have contacted the surrounding areas occupants to let them know of the mission. I conduct most missions at night and with thermal cameras, sometimes I do use the spotlight for the final identification. I do not light up a persons home without their consent. I fly with in all applicable FAA regulations and state laws. As bad as people want to complain, you do not own the airspace. Period. Yes I can fly over your property. No I will not hover directly over your property with out permission. (even though that is not a crime). And I definitely will not use a spot light over your home with out your consent. When I'm flying @ 400 ft it may appear as though I'm over your home when I may not be. However some people do not understand the applicable laws and how they work. SO on the onset of a mission, before I ever put a drone into the air I go over all the basic rules and regulations with the client. I let them know my limitations up front. I also record all missions ( to include telemetry, with mapping) If you have a question with how I conduct a mission, either come join me on one I would be happy to show you the in's and out's.
To everyone else thanks so much for your support.
