Our worst nightmare happened today. Our dog Eska had complications after his surgery that led us to rush him into the local animal emergency hospital and ultimately say goodbye to him.

The worst part - we had a wedding to shoot this afternoon.

Without hesitation, KC Photography, Sweet Peach Photography LLC, and Emily Z Photography came to the rescue and worked together to get the entire wedding day covered in the midst of their own bookings and obligations for the day.

We could not be more thankful for our community of photographers that we genuinely consider close friends. Because of them, we were able to spend time with our dog in his last moments without letting our clients down.

Today would have been Eskas brother’s ninth birthday, but we lost him unexpectedly 13 months ago.

Our village truly showed up today.

We had an eventful past few days in the Harrington household!

Our poor Eska wasn’t acting himself a few days ago, so we rushed him into the vet. They did some tests and took an X-Ray. Unfortunately they found a small piece of a squeaker from one of his dog toys he had gotten for his birthday last week in his pylorus (lower stomach where it meets the small intestine). They had to get him into emergency surgery to extract the squeaker. While they were in there, they had noticed the plastic had poked through his stomach and was causing Peritonitis. Thankfully the doctor was able to remove everything and stitch him up with minimal concerns.

We were able to pick him up this afternoon. We’ve been trying to tend to him and make him comfortable for his healing process. He’s doing okay, but not the best. We’re not out of the woods until Monday with his age and how severe the surgery was. So with that being said, we ask for everyone to keep Eska and our household in your thoughts and prayers for these next few weeks. 🩶

For our up and coming clients and clients waiting on photos, you should not see an impact in your weddings, sessions or photo delivery. We’re working hard to keep business as usual the best we can!
