The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse, built in 1871, is known for two things: it is the only lighthouse on the Oregon Coast where the living quarters are in the same building as the light tower and it has a ghost.

This is not my usual view, but I couldn’t resist as it peeked through the dunes by the south jetty.

I know I’m lucky to hear the ocean from home, to be able to see on walks through the neighborhood or every time I leave the house, but nothing beats being down with it.
