You don’t need to spend your entire wedding day taking photos.

In fact, you shouldn’t.

Your wedding day should be filled with champagne toasts, happy tears, hugs, laughter, dancing, and actually being present with the people you love most. The photos are important, but they shouldn’t take over your entire day.

That’s where a well-planned timeline makes ALL the difference.

A good photographer knows how to build a timeline that gives you enough time for beautiful, intentional portraits without making you feel like you’re constantly being pulled away from your guests. We plan around the light, your ceremony, family photos, bridal party portraits, golden hour, and the moments that matter most.

The goal isn’t to spend more time taking photos.

The goal is to spend the right amount of time taking photos so you can spend the rest of your day soaking it all in.

Beautiful images AND a wedding day that actually feels like your wedding? That’s the sweet spot. ✨

Your timeline should work for you, not the other way around.

If you’re dreaming of a Mississippi wedding with a little bit of country charm, put The CountrySide Venue in Braxton/Star on your list.

One of my favorite things about this venue is how many beautiful photo opportunities are right on the property—from the rustic barn and outdoor spaces to the pond and surrounding countryside.

And as a photographer, I LOVE a venue where you don’t have to travel all over creation to get beautiful images.

There are a million reasons I love photographing weddings, but if I had to choose just one…

It’s the moments you don’t realize are going to matter so much.

The way he looks at her when she walks down the aisle.
The happy tears from Dad.
The grandparents dancing.
The quiet moment together after the ceremony when it finally hits you: we’re married.

The pretty details are beautiful, but the people and the memories are what make your wedding day worth remembering.

And getting to preserve those moments for my couples? I’ll never take that for granted. 🤍

One of the biggest mistakes I see couples make? Treating photography like something you can just squeeze into the wedding day.

Photography has to have intentional time built into the day to capture those posed AND candid moments. Without intentional time throughout the day how else will you capture your grandmother’s longing smile or your dad secretly wiping away a tear? Building intentional time for photography-whether candid, documentary, or posed is crucial to preserving all the memories of your wedding day. This is something that should be discussed with your photographer well ahead of time, not something to wait until the last minute to do.
