Have you seen the Shoals Musician Census pop-up exhibit yet? It’s a walking trail tour of four locations around downtown Florence featuring portraits of over 50 local musicians. Locations:

Myrilla Boutique, Seminary Street
Parker Bingham, Tennessee Street
Alabama Outdoors, Mobile Street
First Bank, Court Street

This musician centric exhibition is brought to the public by Downtown Florence Alliance, during this month’s WC Handy Music Festival and will be on display through First Friday in August. Be sure to check it out!

The Shoals Musician Census project is the work of photographer Abraham Rowe, in collaboration with Muscle Shoals NHA and Shoals Music Archive. For more information about the exhibit and project see link below.

About a month ago I took a quick trip to the Mississippi Delta with my good friend Evan. It was a random Tuesday and apparently juke joints aren’t open on Tuesday’s (except for one). Even without visiting the legendary clubs we were completely enamored with Clarksdale and had so many adventures in 24 hours. I had no preconceived notions as to how, or even if I would photograph this space, but the 35mm film camera came out and that’s all I shot, about 4 rolls. It’s such a fascinating place; equal parts cosmopolitan and preserved in amber.

Today was the day Caitlin and Reidus were to be married with the reception at her family farm. Perfect May weekend, but Reidus in the US Air Force and got called to duty flying cargo planes in and out of the Middle East as part of the war in Iran.

Thanks to Reidus and all of the amazing young men and women and their families, who make real sacrifices, like having to change your wedding day last minute, after a year of planning. We will celebrate big one year from today!

Cautionary Tale revisited…To celebrate ten years of the Dylan LeBlanc masterwork, Cautionary Tale, I went back to our 2015 session and looked at some of the original film scans and pulled out a handful of the unedited and unreleased images. Also, Single Lock Records just released a special 10th anniversary honeybee swirl vinyl, so go check that out, it’s such a great album!
