We began this build when the house was already up and blue board was installed. All of the interior walls were up and the electric and plumbing were installed. We began the build preparing for and installing the vinyl siding. At the end of the first week we had very little yet to do on the siding and will begin working on the interior of the house. This is a good build. The other Care-a-vanners are good people and hard workers.

We have been in Biloxi, Mississippi for the last week waiting for the National Parks to open. During that time I had the opportunity to get images of a lot of birds. You that know me also know I love shooting images of birds. There is a variety of birds here, but only the tip of the iceberg of all the birds that inhabit this area. I was a ball getting these images. I hope you enjoy them.

Jan Carlson’s final Cantata was last Sunday 12/16. Many individuals who had sung in the choir, but were no longer at our church came back and sang in the Cantata. It became a homecoming for many and a wonderful time to see friends we had not seen in a long time. After the Cantata there was a reception in fellowship hall for Jan. Charlie Nystrom was the MC. There was a fantastic incredible slide show put together of Jan and all the activities she participates in and images of her past relatives. Carol Nielsen did a great impression with a special song for Jan. Charlie presented her with a gift, a card, and generous monetary gifts from the membership. It was a great time. Enjoy the pictures.

These are images of our, Osseo United Methodist Church’s Music Director, Jan Carlson. Jan is retiring at the end of the year. These images were used at the reception for her on December 16, 2018. The images were on a continual loop during the meal and social time. Images were provided by myself, Gary Kasper, Leslie Knapp, and Jan’s Facebook account. Jan has held the position for 33 years and will be missed. She is a very special person.

This is a compilation of images of sunrises that were taken from the same location on 8 different days at Acadia National Park in Maine. The location was a short hike from Black Woods Campground along the shoreline. There would normally be about 20 of my closest sunrise watchers there every morning. People would walk up and quietly find a place to sit on a rock. It was almost like being in a church. People were quiet. Whispering when they needed to talk until after the sun had risen. It was almost a religious experience to many of us. God’s beauty being shared with other early risers. I loved it.

We really enjoyed our fall trip to Maine. The fall there is on steroids. The leaves are so bright it is like the trees are battery powered. Most of these pictures were taken around Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor.

Sue’s Cousin Diane and her friend Donna have an antique shop in Donna’s barn. It is called Old Stone Barn Antiques and it is great. Sue and I found a couple things we could not get along without. So, those of you that are in the Lancaster, PA area need to check it out.

Six couples of HFH Care-a-vanner’s gathered a Grand Rapids, MN to help build a house for Habitat for Humanity. We were all well experienced having held a hammer at least once in our lives. But the skills needed for this two week build were measuring, cutting and screwing drywall to all the interior walls. Then we needed to finish the siding, seal the outside and paint the house twice. Sue & I, Dave & Gin Anderson, Ron & Jean Gratz, Ron & Judy Bell, Rick & Paula Huls, and Ken & Carlene Eudy were up for the job. Everyone in this group knew exactly what to do and how to do it, right Larry? Well there were the three stooges, but we won’t discuss that any further. It was one great group. Hard workers who knew how to have a good time. We were privileged to have the opportunity to work on this house. We would like to thank the Habitat for Humanity in Grand Rapids, MN for giving us the opportunity.
