"Then God said: “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and they shall serve as signs and for seasons, and for days and years." (Genesis 1:14)
Coast Guard 47-foot Motor Lifeboat (MLB) heading out to sea at sunset on the Siuslaw River ~ Florence, Oregon
"The primary rescue craft of the United States Coast Guard (USCG). It is designed to operate in severe weather conditions, capable of withstanding hurricane-force winds and heavy seas.
Key features include:
- Self-righting capability: The boat can self-right in less than ten seconds if it capsizes.
- Durability: Made from 5456 marine-grade aluminum, it is built to withstand extreme conditions.
- Operational range: Capable of operating in surf up to 20 feet and heavy weather with seas of 30 feet combined with 50 knots winds.
- Training: Surfmen undergo rigorous training to navigate and rescue in challenging environments."
"He spoke with them and said to them, “Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid." then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished..." (Mark 6:50-52)
We experienced some beautiful sunsets here on the Oregon Coast this last week. This image was taken in our hometown of Florence at the North Jetty. The sunburst was created in lens using a high aperture setting. Have a wonderful weekend!
"They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;
You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy." (Psalm 65:8)
