Excited for Mountain Valor Fest this Saturday in Floyd at Crooked Mountain!

The Remembrance Ceremony is a moving tribute to those lost on 9/11 and in the wars that followed.

This festival is free and begins at noon with live music, food trucks, family activities in the Kid Zone, plus state and local resources on site to help veterans and their families navigate available benefits.

She gets herself into her fair share of "predicaments." 🙃

Producing television shows taught me this lesson first-hand. 🎬 The cutting room floor can be a rough place. You have to leave out a lot of good stuff -- BUT only having a certain amount of time to tell a good story forces you to focus on advancing the storyline.

Refine your message.

Only keep the details that matter most. A-ha moments, emotional turning points, lessons learned.

Hopefully this episode helps you see the power of good editing when working with your own copy/content.

This video is primarily for my workshop students who are working on putting themselves out there by speaking on camera.

TO MY STUDENTS: 👏 you are doing AWESOME with the 🎬"Film Yourself with Confidence"🎬 video challenge this week!

For those of you who haven't posted your video (OR if you're NOT one of my students): the tips and strategies I share in this video could still benefit you if you're struggling with posting but your goal is still to increase your visibility, reach more clients, and feel confident on camera!

When you first start creating videos to share your message, it's all about COURAGE > COMFORT. If it was comfortable, everyone would do it!

🎤 Speaking on camera and putting yourself out there is not easy. But it's worth it. I hope these tips are helpful.

Sitting in a room full of people who are harnessing the courage it takes to put themselves out there is so invigorating! ✨️

I am so proud of everyone who attended this weekend's "Film Yourself with Confidence" workshop!

👏 Kudos to these entrepreneurs, business owners and nonprofit leaders for stepping outside their comfort zone. I gave them a few different homework assignments — class is still in session — part 2 of the workshop is next weekend!

They're working on social media strategies, filming frameworks, and camera confidence techniques to help grow their audience, scale their business, and strengthen their mission.
