NEW WEBSITE 🎉🎉🎉

Last week I worked with .co to give my business brand and website a needed face lift and I’m so proud of what we came up with 💛

This new website gives you so much insight into the heart behind my business, how much I care about catering to your needs, solving your problems, focus on serving you and helping you feel comfortable and have the most joyful, relaxed experience while getting photos.

I believe photos help us

- to remember our favorite experiences
- the importance of holding onto our favorite people
- and give us a chance to slow down. In the midst of lives that can be filled with stress and chaos, I want to give you the chance to relax and experience joy with your favorite person while you make memories you want to hold onto. 💛

CAN WE BRING OUR DOG?

My simple answer is always YES!

And for a few reasons

1. I personally love dogs so selfishly I’d love to see them and give them free pets 😍

2. They are a part of your family and absolutely should be included!

3. They make your photo shoot even more fun 🎉

4. They are adorable and how could they not be included 🤯

Annika and Christian wanted their photos at a Christmas tree farm so I reached out to and asked if they would be okay if they brought their dog.

Their answer was my favorite response: “Absolutely! They are a part of the family!”

And they truly are 💛

HOW TO GET THE BEST LIGHTING

The easiest way to get photos with soft lighting is to have your photos taken at…

- Sunrise
- Sunset
- Or on a cloudy day like this one ^

Photos taken at sunrise and sunset will have a beautiful, golden warmth to them and that makes for beautiful photos.

That said, if you’re not available for a photo shoot at sunrise or sunset, that’s still okay!

Often, people may be disappointed if the sun isn’t shining on the day of the photoshoot but that doesn’t mean we can’t take beautiful photos. When clouds cover the sky like a sheet, it makes for a beautiful, soft, peaceful lighting.

This lighting means that photos will still look beautiful regardless of the hour they are taken. The sheet-like clouds means we don’t have to deal with dark shadows or squinting at the sun.

So whether you love as much sunshine as you can get, or a cloudy day; there are many ways to get beautiful photos.

HAPPY OCTOBER 🍂🍃🍁

I truly couldn’t be more excited for the month ahead! This week I’m headed to Utah to help photograph an elopement in Arches National Park - the place that’s been at the top of my bucket list for years 😃 I also get to explore Canyonlands NP, and see all the fall colors in Utah 😍

Then I’m a couple weeks I’m seeing the Taylor Swift concert movie and at some point I’ll be making a visit to Lake Tahoe.

October, I know you’re going to be an amazing month 🎉

Getting older doesn’t scare me. I used to be so scared of change, trying new things, anything that I felt was going to cause me to struggle. What I’ve learned the last few years is that struggle doesn’t hurt me - it shapes me, helps me to grow, makes me stronger, and more brave.

I spent so much of my life trying to plan everything out for the future. And while it’s nice to have an idea of where I’m going, I’m a lot more okay now with embracing whatever adventures comes my way.

Here’s to the next year and whatever surprises are headed my way 🎉

I’m grateful for all the friends and family who I know have my back whatever I may face 💛💛

NEVER STOP EXPLORING

Any activity can feel like an adventure if you’re with someone you have fun with. Whether you’re wandering through a forest with the person you love most, or dancing in the aisle while grocery shopping, make the most of every day you are given.

PRESENT OVER PERFECT

I’ve always loved wind-blown hair in photos. Stray hairs are something that can be photoshopped in editing, but personally I feel like it’s more authentic to keep them in. The wind was going strong during this session but these two didn’t mind at all.

They embraced it! They ran all over these beautiful green, rolling hills. And continued to have so much joy even when it started to rain.

If weather is more extreme, then we take precaution. But a little lite rain and wind just adds to the fun!
