When was the last time you said yes to yourself?
As adult women, making new connections isn’t always easy.
Life gets busy. We have careers, families, caregiving responsibilities, and countless obligations competing for our time and attention. Somewhere along the way, many of us reprioritize our lives, placing ourselves lower and lower on the list. I know because I’ve done the very same thing.
I’ve been working on the idea for the 40 Over 40 Women’s Portrait Experience for more than five years. What kept me from launching it sooner was knowing that I wanted it to be about much more than creating beautiful portraits.
From the very beginning, my intention was to create an experience that would encourage women to begin reprioritizing themselves.
Together, we’ll create portraits that reflect who you are and how you want to be seen at this stage of your life. Along the way, I’m intentionally creating opportunities for the women who participate to get to know one another through optional walks, coffee meetups, lunches, and other gatherings. Then, at the end of the year, we’ll come together to celebrate not only the portraits we’ve created, but the wonderful women who chose to be part of the experience.
Every woman who chooses to participate is making a powerful statement:
“I’m willing to be seen, and I matter.”
For many women, saying yes to this experience means stepping outside of a familiar comfort zone. But that’s often where the greatest rewards are found.
This project was intentionally designed to be about more than portraits.
It’s about creating opportunities for connection, encouragement, and celebration. It’s about reminding women that they are still allowed to take up space in their own lives.
If meaningful friendships grow from that, what a beautiful bonus.
Five years ago, I set out to create something bigger than a portrait session.
I wanted to create a community where women feel seen, celebrated, and connected.
Maybe this is the year you decide to say yes to yourself.
