If you’re planning an Oregon wedding or PNW elopement and you’ve been saying, “I don’t think we need a wedding video,” hi!!! I have a feeling you’re exactly who I film Super 8 for.

Most of my couples book Super 8 because they want to remember the feeling of their weekend. The slow morning in the cabin, everyone in the kitchen making breakfast, the post ceremony hugs, and how the sun sparkled on the water, walking back from the beach with sandy feet after sunset.

That’s what I love about Super 8. It doesn’t feel like a production or a weird slow mo highlight reel lol, it feels like the home videos so many of us grew up watching. A lil grainy, imperfect, full of movement, and even more emotional and nostalgic because of it.

Oregon elopements and weddings have taught me that the BEST wedding decisions usually happen when you stop asking everyone else what they think.

It’s really easy to start wedding planning with a vision and slowly watch it get buried under opinions, expectations, traditions, and all the “well, you have to...” advice that somehow comes out of absolutely nowhere!!

If the cozy vacation rental feels more like you than the ballroom, do that. If you want private vows before everyone arrives, do that. If you want 15 people instead of 150, do that. If you want 200 people and a raging dance floor, do that!

At the end of the day, the people who love you most aren’t showing up because they care what your timeline looked like or whether you skipped a tradition. They’re showing up because they get to celebrate you and your marriage. Build the wedding that represents your relationship, then bring your people into that

Pacific Northwest weddings have completely changed the way I think about wedding venues!

Some of my fav wedding weekends have happened in the coziest vacation rentals where everyone ends up around the same table, coffee is brewing all morning, someone starts a card game after dinner, and the back deck becomes the place to hang out.

Get married surrounded by the people who actually show up for you, then stay another day. Make pancakes together, go for a walk, open another bottle, watch the sunset!! Live in the moment of it all and let everyone settle in instead of rushing through eight hours and calling it a good lol.

I really think some of the best wedding memories happen in between the big moments anyway, AND a cozy vacation rental gives those moments room to happen.

There are some relationships that don’t really fit into words, and I think the bond we share with our dogs is one of them. They become woven into every chapter of our lives without us even realizing it.

Getting to photograph that kind of love is something I never take for granted because sessions like this aren’t just beautiful photos of you and your dog, they’re about preserving your relationship exactly as it exists right now. Familiar routines, favorite places, and all the love that’s built over years together. A small collection of years for us, that fills their entire life. It’s such an honor to be invited into something so personal, and to create photographs that will only become more meaningful with time 🌞🏜️

Because once you start paying attention to how you actually want your Oregon wedding to feel it all starts to fall into place.

Maybe your dream day looks like an Oregon micro wedding where your guest list is just your favorite people and the whole day feels connected instead of rushed. Maybe it turns into a wedding weekend on the Oregon Coast where everyone stays together for a few days.

You’re not checking boxes or trying to keep up with a timeline that was never built for you in the first place!! You’re creating a day that gives you room to be present, room to breathe, and room to spend time with the people who matter most.

And years from now, that’s the part you’ll remember, not how closely it followed tradition. How it felt to be there while it was happening.

And before you tell me you don’t want a wedding video, hear me out!!

Most of the couples who end up booking Super 8 with me aren’t looking for a wedding film in the traditional sense. They aren’t imagining a big production crew following them around all day or a perfectly polished slow mo highlight reel.

What they’re drawn to is the feeling. The feeling of pressing play ten years from now and seeing your dad pull you into a hug, your friends laughing around the dinner table, everyone gathered around a fire after the sun goes down, walking back from the beach with sandy feet after sneaking away for sunset. That’s the stuff Super 8 is so good at holding onto.

The grain and light makes everything feel both a lil imperfect and a lil dreamy, somehow it feels more like a memory than a video. It’s like something that belongs in a box of family keepsakes alongside old photographs, handwritten notes and other pieces you’ve compiled into a time capsule of your life.

I think those magical qualities are why so many couples who never wanted wedding videography end up falling in love with Super 8. Because it doesn’t feel like watching your wedding day, it feels like remembering it.
