Mark brought in a photo from the National Archives of his dad in a SB2C fighter plane. We scanned in, restored and colorized it. Mark even brought in a bullet from the plane so that we could color them correctly in the photo. He also brought in reference photos that showed the plane in color and another of a man wearing similar clothing and gear so we would know the correct colors to make everything. Once he approved the restoration we printed it out for him to his 92 year old mother. I’m sure she will enjoy it.

👣 Bring in your faded or black and white photos, Leave A Legacy will colorize them for you.

We scan more then paper photos! We scanned and digitally restored a tintype (1956-1967) photo of Sherrie’s ancestor. The restorations turned out really well and we printed several copies for her to share with relatives.

Heidi had us restore this fun photo that her family had made while visiting the Smithsonian museums in Washington, D.C. On their visit they had the faces of her family (father and son included as the 1st and 3rd people) inserted as the faces in this iconic photo. We restored this fun photo from the museum and reprinted it to its former glory.

👣 Bring in your fun photo edit requests to Leave A Legacy. We can add color, people, remove objects, the possibilities are endless. And we don;t make it look weird like AI or add in random stuff.

We scanned in a collection of photos for Roberta of her parents while they were in New York. Her father was a photography student at the time so had some very artistic images.

Donna brought in a collection of old damaged photos that she is using to build a family genealogy chart. We are restoring the photos and cropping them down to a wallet size of just their head and shoulders. This photo is of her great grandmother with her grandfather behind in curls. For the chart she needed her grandfather removed from the image.

Family Memories - Make Them, Collect Them & Share Them

Preserving your family memories is something that is always put on the back burner. You will work on it later….when the kids go to school, when the kids go to college, when I retire, when I have free time, when it’s cold outside. We always put it off to some later day….well that day very well could be today! Get your young kids, college kids, spouse or your parents involved (whether with you or far away).

Collect together all your old media that contains all your family memories. Collect your video tapes, movie films, pile up your loose photos, stacks of family photo albums, and collect all of your memory cards, flash drives, external drives, old phones.. Gather up all the old audio including (records, cassettes, reel-to-reel, microcassettes, 8-tracks and more). It’s a great time to go through the old tubs and boxes. You can get the kids involved in all the sorting. You can either bring them in to be digitized now at Leave A Legacy!

Another aspect of collecting memories is to do some interviews with your parents or grandparents. Many a person has regret of all the questions they didn’t ask a family member before they passed. I myself, wish I had gone through all the family history research my mother compiled with her before she passed. Seize the opportunity today. Ask the questions about your family history while you still have them. There are books available that will help you come up with questions to ask. Both of my parents completed such books and they contain lots of treasures. After they passed I scanned both of the books which has their hand-written responses and typed up my father’s responses since his handwriting is a challenge to decipher. Have your kids call your parents and have your parents tell them stories of their youth.

👣 Bring in your old media and we will transfer to digital!

Sometimes you still need a DVD - depending on the venue and how updated the equipment is. We still make quite a few DVD's and we have several different processes depending on, you guessed it, what the equipment needs.

Two clients, one from Wisconsin and one from Loveland send us video files that they needed on a playable DVD. The file they had just won’t play on a DVD player even when saved to a disc. We have the right program to burn it the right way so you can see it on your DVD player. Glad to help for Frank’s 80th birth day and help the local art museum with their event.

👣 Bring in your videos for transfer! Leave A Legacy can make DVD's into .mp4 and even .mp4 into DVD

Larry was going through his old slides and plans of giving them to the people in the photo. He found this one of his nephew who looks just like a photo of his daughter with something in her mouth.
