This short product video for Feedback Sports was created several years ago at this point, but still a good one! We shot this outside of Boulder, CO in February and it was perfect, sunny day. The still product photos from this shoot came out even better by using a bit of fill flash to balance the harsh sun.

Niner may be dead, but I still have a ton of great photos to post from years of working with them. I just looked in my photo catalog and have 14,870 photos from Niner projects, starting in 2020. And those were only the "keepers", which means I have probably shot at least double that number of images originally. Here's 8 of 14,870. 😜

Bittersweet. This showed up in my mailbox yesterday… full page ad for on the back cover of . 😢 RIP indeed, with Niner shutting down before this made it to newsstands. Many clients don’t use print advertising anymore, which is a shame. It’s always amazing to see my work in print. looking stylish, as always.

I rarely remember to take behind the scenes footage when I'm shooting, but I did for this shot! The delicious can of Outer Range Brewing Co.'s In the Steep IPA was floated with an acrylic rod. The background was lit with a projector light to split it into light and dark halves, mimicking the alpine artwork on the can. I then used a mini cold fog machine to generate a whole series of fog patterns that I combined in post. The final image is a combination of around 20 images. A video piece was also created with a composite of a still image of the can with the motion of the fog. The second image here shows a BTS of the studio setup, the third image shows a raw image before the composite and editing.

Had a blast heading over to the Western Slope last summer to shoot for Lincoln Electric. They were running a feature magazine article on welder Sarah Matthews. Not my usual gig of studio product work, but not too far from shooting product lifestyle work. I believe these photos ran in the welding-focused Arc magazine. Let me know if you saw it, I unfortunately never landed a copy.
