Senior photos shouldn’t feel like a photoshoot. They should feel like a story you’ll remember.
When families ask what makes one senior photographer different from another, my answer is simple:
It’s not the camera.
It’s not even the photos.
It’s the experience.
Every senior has a different story to tell. Maybe that’s an old British roadster at blue hour. Maybe it’s a stand-up bass against an incredible Colorado sunset. Maybe it’s your favorite mountain bike on the trails where you spend every weekend.
Those aren’t props. They’re part of who you are.
That’s why I spend time getting to know my seniors before we ever pick up a camera. We build a session around them—their interests, their personality, and the places that matter.
Sometimes that means photographing in locations most people can’t access. Over the years I’ve built relationships, secured permits, and gained access to unique spaces that help create images that simply can’t be duplicated.
But the goal isn’t exclusive locations.
The goal is creating something that feels authentic.
Years from now, I don’t want you to remember standing in front of a camera. I want you to remember driving the little red sports car through downtown, laughing between shots, chasing an unbelievable sunset, hauling your bass onto a street corner, or riding your bike until the light was perfect.
The photographs become reminders of an experience.
Because the best senior portraits aren’t just about what you looked like.
They’re about who you were.
