Elizabeth didn’t want ordinary senior pictures.

She came to us with a vision: retro, glamorous, a little Marilyn Monroe, and completely her.

So we built the experience around it—from the vintage styling and Hollywood-inspired hair to the locations, lighting, wardrobe and every little detail.

This is what happens when you stop thinking about senior pictures as just pictures…and start designing an experience.

Senior photos shouldn’t feel like a photoshoot. They should feel like a story you’ll remember.

When families ask what makes one senior photographer different from another, my answer is simple:

It’s not the camera.

It’s not even the photos.

It’s the experience.

Every senior has a different story to tell. Maybe that’s an old British roadster at blue hour. Maybe it’s a stand-up bass against an incredible Colorado sunset. Maybe it’s your favorite mountain bike on the trails where you spend every weekend.

Those aren’t props. They’re part of who you are.

That’s why I spend time getting to know my seniors before we ever pick up a camera. We build a session around them—their interests, their personality, and the places that matter.

Sometimes that means photographing in locations most people can’t access. Over the years I’ve built relationships, secured permits, and gained access to unique spaces that help create images that simply can’t be duplicated.

But the goal isn’t exclusive locations.

The goal is creating something that feels authentic.

Years from now, I don’t want you to remember standing in front of a camera. I want you to remember driving the little red sports car through downtown, laughing between shots, chasing an unbelievable sunset, hauling your bass onto a street corner, or riding your bike until the light was perfect.

The photographs become reminders of an experience.

Because the best senior portraits aren’t just about what you looked like.

They’re about who you were.

It was so great seeing Stacy and Charlton in the studio a couple weeks ago. Just by chance I saw that Seven Rubies was in Colorado so I zipped down to the studio and met her and Charlton and son. We had a quick tour of the studio and then they introduced me to a Shutterfest model Danii Marion who lives right here in town! It was great making this connection and now Danii and I have some plans to make some FIRE images! So happy to connect with all of them! Follow Seven Rubies and join their team there are big things coming!
