The Kenya Collection is going Live on Thursday, October 30, with an exhibit, presentation, and sale at The Gallery at Fort Collins' Showroom!

I have created a full series of photography, as well as pottery (Pottori) inspired by the trip, for this collection. I'll also share beautiful art -including textiles, beadwork, baskets, and metal and wood sculptures - that I collected from Kenyan artists. Finally, I'll be gathering contact information from attendees who are interested in joining me for the next Kenyan adventure.

I'm excited to announce that I'll be a part of Impulse Dance's block party on Saturday, July 26, from 10am-1pm at the corner of Prospect and Lemay. I'll be selling photography and I'll also be selling pottery as Mudder Fingers Pottery.

Several of my friends have danced at Impulse over the years, but I had never watched videos of their performances until the past month or so. You *must* check them out! Body-positive, adult dance. I'm a dancer, but the only time I tried classes, it was beginner tap in college. Well, I was literally the ONLY person, in a class of about 35-40 people, who had never taken classes and I was so lost and frustrated that I quickly quit to resume my Appalachian flat footing. Maybe I'll end up dancing at Impulse one day! Anyway, I hope to see you on the 26th!

Few of my "office tasks" bring me more joy than matting prints, to see them that much closer to how they'll look framed on your wall. I only use acid-free components, and, although it costs a bit more, I print the full frame, with rare exception. Manufacturers have never done a good job of providing supplies for 35mm / 2:3 ratio images, but I intentionally pair these 8x12 prints with 11x14 mats, to make it easy for customers to select readily available, off-the-shelf frames.

Just one day after accepting that there would be no window of opportunity for my family to take a quick summer trip anywhere, other than visiting extended family, we found an extra 3 days and were able to take a 5-day trip to visit wild horses, the Tetons, and Yellowstone. Here's a beautiful moment from our one evening with the wild horse "curlies" at Salt Wells Creek, Wyoming. I am working to finalize image selections and formats for some of my favorite Kenyan wildlife photographs. In looking at frame options online, I am loving this one for this incredible tusker (and egret catching a lift)! What do you think?
