I hope everyone has been having a very happy holiday season! As the year winds down and we’re all getting ready to ring in 2025, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has taken the time to view my photos, read my captions, visit my profile, and leave a like or comment. Most importantly, I want to thank everyone for their incredible support and encouragement for me to continue pursuing my passions.
2024 has been a wild ride for me as a photographer, videographer, and content creator. It’s taken me to a handful of national parks, new states, as well as some big trips to Alaska, Finland, and Sweden. I’ve seen many old friends, made a lot of new ones, and it’s been an absolute blast.
I have some big plans for the coming year and I’m excited for my next steps on this journey. The picture for this post is from my trip in June to Alaska, and this amazing young brown bear was very curious about me as I was photographing it and its sibling and mom on the beach. The little wave it gave me was adorable, and I was so happy to capture it.
As always I hope you enjoy the photo, and I’m wishing you all a very happy new year!!

I think I’ve mentioned this in a previous post, but I love a good environmental wildlife photo. Don’t get me wrong, capturing and seeing close-ups is always great, but taking photos of the subject in its natural habitat is always a nice way to see where they live.
I took this photo of my favorite subject, the great gray owl, in Yellowstone National Park this October. The evening was getting late, and me and a friend were following this owl through a small meadow and it landed just far away enough for me to capture it in this stand of conifers. I hope you enjoy the image and have a great weekend!!

A few weeks ago I decided to take another quick trip up to Jackson to see the moose again with some friends. I had a great time and got to see this big fella quite a bit while there. He wasn’t around when I was there in November, so it was a really nice treat to get to spend some quality time with him and to get some really nice photos. This photo was from my second might on the trip as we found him and a few other bulls just before sunset. Enjoy the photo and have a great one!!

Visiting Couer d’Alene in Northern Idaho last month was a total blast. While road tripping around Montana and Idaho, I decided to take a few days to stop by this beautiful area and see what all of the fuss was about with these bald eagles. As it turned out, I was a little early to the party, but this beautiful four year old eagle stole the show before the rest of the eagles would start showing up for the winter season. For the few days I was there I hung out near this perch watching her hunt and fish for salmon in the lake, and I was able to take a lot of photos and video. She was a great subject, and I can’t wait to get back to this incredible area. Hope you enjoy the photo!!

Last month while in Grand Teton National Park I decided to take a nice hike around some areas where I had found great grays owls in the past. I unfortunately didn’t have luck with them, but while walking back to my truck I noticed a small little fluff ball at the top of a nearby aspen tree. I immediately recognized the shape and got super excited that I had found a northern pygmy owl. It turned out to be a really fun experience as I watched this little assassin hunting in a small patch of willows and successfully catching two voles. The other cool part of this was that there was a second owl nearby and I got to listen to the two of them having a nice conversation. I wasn’t able to find the other owl, but it was still super cool to be around an amazing owl species that I had not seen in the Tetons before. Hope you enjoy the photo and have a great day!

Last November while visiting Grand Teton National Park I had a very fortunate surprise while driving around looking for wildlife. A great owl swooped down over my truck and landed in a nearby tree stand. This surprise encounter lead to me finding multiple owls over the next four days. This image is of the first owl I found a few days after our first encounter, and I found it hunting in a meadow near where we first met. I really like this photo as I was able to capture the owl in a thick group of conifers with the sun was catching it through the trees. I hope you enjoy the photo and have a great day!

Last night I was going through some photos from my trip to Norway last year and reflecting on what an amazing time it was to see and photograph must ox. While the time with them lasted only two days, it was an experience of a lifetime to be around these amazing animals. This younger individual was a little curious about us as we approached, and held its ground while I snapped a few quick shots before moving on. Hope you enjoy the photo!

My recent trip to Northern Idaho was so much fun. I was only able to spend a few days there, but seeing and photographing the eagles was a blast, especially this one. This young adult eagle spent the few days I was there putting on a show for the handful of photographers and was definitely not camera shy. I captured this image at the end of my first day as it was perched on a branch looking towards the setting sun. Hope you enjoy the photo and have a great weekend!

Hey all, how about another moose photo from my recent trip to Jackson, WY. So most of the time when taking pictures, you know if you got the shot right, and also when you missed or messed it up. Sometimes, you’re not so sure, and that’s how I felt about this one. I knew I was blowing out the sun in the background to get the exposure right on my subject, but I was worried about how that would look when I processed the image. Thankfully, I think it all came together and I’m liking how the final draft came out, even with that hot band of light behind him. What do you all think of it?
Hope you enjoy it and have a great a day!

When visiting Northern Finland this summer we took a few days to focus on photographing brown bears. This region has a large population of bears, with many of them coming over from bordering Russia. It was a successful trip as we saw a bunch of them each night, from sows with cubs, young adults, and some older ones as well. The boar in this photo made multiple appearances during our stay, and I was able to capture this image when he came out early one night for a quick bath in the nearby watering hole before the sun began to set. Hope you enjoy the photo and have a great one!
