Bukhara, a lively city full of diverse culture, history, and architecture located in the flat desert of Uzbekistan. This city has been continuously inhabited for over two millennia, and was well as a major intellectual center of the Islamic world. I spent three days in Bukhara and was pleasantly surprised by the city’s rich history, culture, energy and creativity, from its bustling outdoor cafés to its many art venues and cultural celebrations—creating a place that feels both ancient and contemporary, historic yet vibrant. Lowell, Arizona is a ghost town where time stopped in the mid 20th century. Check it out when visiting nearby Bisbee, along with Tombstone. These two former boomtowns have evolved in a dramatically different way. Today, Tombstone is a living monument to the Wild West, while Bisbee is a quirky arts enclave with a bohemian vibe. I captured this scene from a boat on the way from Corfu to Paxos, one of the Ionian islands in Greece. Paxos is known for its dramatic cliffs, blue sea caves, olive groves, and picturesque villages like Gaios. The miniseries “Maestro in Blue” was also filmed here.
